DH and I are staying at POFQ in December and will have QSDP. We're planning on doing mostly late start days becaus DH likes to sleep in/we're coming from the west coast. I'm an early riser and am thinking about having small breakfasts/snacks/water in the room. I'm considering ordering grocery delivery through Garden grocer but am concerned it will be too much food since we need to order $40 worth of groceries. Would you recommend ordering groceries? Will the QSDP be enough food?

If you order $40 worth of food for the two of you, you'll be taking some food home or leaving it for someone.

Why not just plan to use one of your snack credits each morning to get yourself a small breakfast. You'll have your refillable mug for coffee (or your beverage choice). Unless things have changed, there's a coffee maker in your room with coffee. So you could grab your snack the night before and make coffee in your room.

Have you looked at Amazon Prime Now? I believe the minimum is $20.

I agree with PP. You each have two snack credits per day, plus 2 quick service meals. If you use the quick service meals for lunch and dinner, you could use at least 1 snack credit, per person, for breakfast items to keep in the room and maybe save the second snack credit for later in the day? I don't know how much you eat for breakfast? DS9 and I usually just have a granola bar and a piece of fruit in the room and I buy a small milk for the coffee I make in the room. I pack our granola bars and bring them from home so I just have to buy the milk and fruit when we get there. You could do that with small cereal boxes as well.

what are you looking to purchase? you can purchase water snacks etc in the grocery section of your resort store. $40 goes a long way when purchasing small things

This is a great idea. I figured the $40 of groceries would be a lot. I think I'll probably do the snack credit in the morning and use meal credits for lunch/dinner . Thank you for your response!

I usually order breakfast things (yogurt and fruit), waters and wine/beer. It's very easy to hit the $40 mark if you purchase adult beverages.

We're not big drinkers. Second guessing myself and considering using snack credits instead of ordering food. Thanks!

Packing non perishable snacks sounds like an ideal plan along with using a snack credit for a small breakfast in the room. Thank you for your feedback!

We usually drive so we bring some presliced breakfast breads from our grocery store as well as granola bars and a few other snacks. The breakfast breads make a quick & tasty in-room breakfast. Even last trip when we traveled by plane we just packed the breads in a carry on tote.

That helps a lot. We'll be flying from California so we have quite a ways but I think carrying on breakfast snacks sounds like the most ideal/cost efficient plan without having food left over.

In some of the resort gift shop stores, especially where there are DVC Villas you can pick up boxes or bags of Entenmann's donuts, six packs of Bagels & such, I'm not sure what they stock at POFQ. Also when eating at your resort QS you can use your refillable mug for the meal you are eating & get a bottle of water or another bottled drink to use later. There are definitely ways to stretch your QS & Snack credits & also supplement with a few purchases of breakfast type items at the gift shops.

When we travel, it is just DH and I and we usually get the regular dining plan. We've never ordered groceries and have always been fine. I do usually pack in our checked suitcase some small snack things like 100-cal packs of almonds, beef jerky, pretzels, etc so we have a few small snacks. Water would be nice, but not worth paying a grocery delivery. We just buy bottles when we need it.

I fly from California and I pack a couple boxes of granola bars, peanut butter crackers, and mini muffins in my checked luggage, and grab a case of water from the resort store. These keep us held over while we are getting ready in the mornings and through at least a ride or two at rope drop and then we usually start snacking around, or have lunch early to beat the crowds. We did GG once because my family was traveling with us and they are picky about having Poland Spring water and Pepsi but I thought it was really expensive and would not do that again.

DH and I have the dining plan for our next trip, but even if we are paying oop we always pack a box of cereal, some plastic spoons and a few disposable bowls. We then pick up milk at the gift shop and breakfast is taken care of for around ten bucks. Saves us time, too, so we can get out quicker and make the most of our time in Disney!

DH and I stayed at POFQ in February. We had the kids meal breakfast every morning. It was plenty of food and no one cared if you didn't have kids with you.

Just pack some breakfast items. Granola bars, cereal, peanut butter and jelly. Than buy the expensive milk and bread at your hotel store.

We order from Garden Grocer every trip because of the high cost of water and soda in the parks. We are a family of 4 and 1 bottle of water each, purchased at Disney, is the cost of a case of water from Garden Grocer. My family also drinks a lot of Diet Coke. If we have any soda/water left over at the end of the trip, we give the extras to bell services.

Something to think about, not sure how many beverages is included in your meal plan.

I wouldn't bother with ordering groceries. Pack some snacks in your suitcase (we often pack dry cereal or crackers & Laughing Cow Cheese, which doesn't need to be refrigerated until opened). If you do your research, you will find lots of breakfast choices with your snack credits:

Being that we are going in September we are packing light, so we are leaving space(and weight!) to be able to throw in bottled water and Diet Coke, though I double and triple bag the soda because I am paranoid it will explode. Hasn't been a problem so far. Being its only the two of us we don't need to bring a full case, otherwise I would order it, or go to Publix for a quick trip. Lots of people will say to skip the bottled water and just get ice water from the QS counters, but we can't seem to stomach the tap water!

Otherwise, with the dining plan and the aforementioned cereal, we won't be bringing much other food. Every time I pack snacks to try to save money I always end up repacking them at the end of the trip. Disney snacks are soooo much better!
