We went mid April last year and didn't think we would need them...I actually bought a fan from Walmart before hand b/c I knew it would be much cheaper than the parks and ended up returning it thinking I was overthinking my packing....Definitely ended up paying out the rear for a fan in the park while waiting for the parade to start!!!
I never think a misting fan is ever worth having. It's big and easy to leave somewhere and doesn't help that much.
Last time we went to Disney, we brought with us a 4 year old with a medical condition who has trouble in the heat. She had a misting fan but didn't use and and ended up losing it or getting in trouble for spraying other people or something (I don't remember).
Not necessarily, this last October was CRAZY hot! Seriously, record breaking temperatures. I think the one day we were at Epcot, the heat index was up to 114!!!
We usually go in May, and I would say if you have the misters bring them. It can be chilly in May or it can be really hot!
in most of the gift stores in the parks they had tubs of ice with them in there and they were about $13 I got some at walmart in canada too and they were about $8
We went last year in late April/Early May and DS 5 used it the whole time.
We found ours at Wal-Mart either in the camping section or near the actual fans. As far as taking in a carry on, it is pretty bulky (maybe 9 inches tall?).
We've taken them on 2 trips.
Most of the time they hang on the stroller unused. After the 3rd day they don't even leave the room.
Disney has water features everywhere. And it rained so much on our last May trip.
