Headed down this week!! I know September is hotter than hades but I was wondering if there is any chance we would need a light sweatshirt for parks at night? Is this a really stupid question lol?! Just wondering if there is anyone that packs (and uses) a sweatshirt at night in September! thanks!!

Lows at night are trending around the 74-76F range. That can feel somewhat cool without the sun and if there's a light breeze, but it depends on you whether or not you'll want a sweatshirt or windbreaker.

I doubt you will need one in two weeks but pack one so you have it for the evening if you need it. I learned that the weather in WDW (Florida) changes each day and it does not necessarily mean it's colder as the colder months come. As far as end of year months, we have gone October, November, December and January. Sometimes it's needed and sometimes not - regardless of which month we went. One year my son went a few weeks before us, they were really, really cold in the evening, yet when we went two weeks after him, it was warm every evening except our last. Even then I was fine with a light, long sleeve shirt.

Enjoy!

We went in October one year. It was hot when we got there. It snowed back home in Indiana and I was laughing at all of my friends and family. A few days later the temps in FL sunk into the 40s. I met a kid on the elevator at Pop who had to wear his Jedi robe everywhere because they hadn't packed any jackets or anything. It was pretty cold a couple of days. Most water play areas were vacant and the lines for water rides were walk ons. Our last day the temps were in the mid 70s.

I'd highly doubt you'll need them. We're going in Oct. and not planning on taking any. If we get an unusual rare cold snap, I'll buy some.

Not at all. It's still really hot and plenty of humidity. It feels in the 80's at 10pm.

Likely won't start needing any sweaters until probably Jan or Feb..although I'm hoping it comes a lot sooner and is colder by Oct/Nov

I always pack one. If you need it, you have it.
I would throw one in "just in case"::yes::. Who knows, maybe one of the restaurants in the evening could be cold. Nothing worse than trying to enjoy a nice meal when the restaurant is freezing!:scared1:

We are leaving in 3 days (:yay:) and I can't imagine needing one, other than for chilly restaurants as a PP mentioned. Only problem with that is, when it's super hot I won't want to be bothered carrying one or even tying it around my waist and I don't think it will be enough of an issue to get a locker for one. I'm planning for hot, hot, hot and won't be packing any kind of jacket - or even long sleeves.

Have a great trip!!! :flower1:

I've never needed a sweater in September.....would be nice, but no, never happened for me. i'd kinda like to wear a sweater in disney. Everytime I go to disney its always quite hot! I'd welcome cooler weather. Anyway i highly doubt you'll need a sweater. its scorching hot in september.

We were there last year in mid October and didn't use a sweatshirt once. But I would still bring one just in case.

Arrived Fri....that night was still rather hit and muggy, last night was beautiful as there was still a breeze. I didn't bring a jacket and I haven't needed one except on the plane ride down. I'm tempted to get a hoodie for the plane ride home. So I would say bring one b/c better to have and not need vs need and not have.

I believe if you plan for the worst it won't happen. Pack one for everyone. If you need room for souvenirs in the suitcase the sweatshirts are easy to carry on the plane and make good pillows!

I go in Sept. often and every trip I end up having to buy either a long sleeve shirt or a hoody. After the rain it can get chilly (at least for this Georgia girl). I'm leaving tomorrow and will be there a week, I haven't packed yet but I'm throwing a long sleeve shirt and a sweater in my suitcase along with my umbrella and rain jacket.

My rules for travel (especially after living in Alaska and the Northwest)... Bring layers and you can always put them away if not needed. Better to have rather than wish you did. I've been to FL in October many times and although it can be hot and humid still, there's possibility that weather can be cooler later evenings. Be prepared :-)

No. I usually bring one for the plane and it never gets used again until the plane ride home.

The weather across the country till November 16 is going to be above avg acording to a weather site I read this morning
