Will we make it?

We did this one year and since then I've never made a reservation close to arrival time. Our flight was on time, we had little wait for ME, we got to our resort and checked in, all in good time. We had to take a bus to Epcot and then walk all the way to Le Cellier from the front of the park...we were 5 minutes late for our lunch reservation. It was back when you couldn't get a reservation for le Cellier and I took one that I probably shouldn't have. It won't happen again! But OP, I think you should go for it. It helps a lot that you'll be staying at the Contemporary IMO.

We actually usually look the best on arrival day! I tend to wear nicer clothes on an airplane and it will be the last day I will wear make up and not be all sweaty. Lol. I can usually get the boy to wear a polo type shirt on travel day. Same with DH. It wil be certainly the last day he will wear khakis.


We will limit our carry ons to my giant purse, which won't look out of place in a restaurant. We are on the DP so maybe I can send the boys up to check in at CG. While I check in at CR. this is the last week of August, typically lower crowds....

Just so you're aware, some restaurants won't seat you unless your whole party is present.

Hey everybody...plane was a few minutes early, we walked right on our bus and we were the third stop... Checked in and in room by 4:30. We had time for cocktails! Btw the meal was amazing, service was spectacular, view incredible. I highly recommend.

I just read this and wonder why all the negative comments. Since she was staying at the CR and her meal was at the CR, everything would have been handled just fine at check in. The CM checking them in would have called the restaurant to tell them "if" they were late. My family had a late ressie at WCC and our plane was on time but ME fumbled us a little and we were late. The CM took care of it for us, calling them and getting us in shortly after our we went to the room. Believe it or not, they do know this type of thing happens and they are Disney !

The OP had good travel karma. But, on arrival day, you should always plan for the worst case scenario. Flights get delayed, or the wait for DME is longer than expected. It's hard to plan around contingencies that might make you miss your ADR. And yes, it helps tremendously when you are eating at your resort.
