Will we make friends?

OK, so I suspect this is a silly question. My ds7 and dd4 and I will be taking a West Coast cruise in August - my dh can't join us, scheduling snafu. Will I spend the whole cruise on my own? I don't really mind, I love my kids, but I'm wondering if everyone cruising are families trying to spend time together *only*, and as a 'lone' adult I won't have any grown-up conversation.

Any thoughts?

Have you checked over in the Cruise Meets section for a thread on your cruise week? You will find out about the other people on your cruise and make some friends ahead of time.

Definantly try the cruise meets. We have someone on ours that is going alone, but now with the meets, she's not really alone!

Definitely check over at the cruise meet board. Not only may you find someone to hang with, the kids might find some kids their age to chat with before hand. That way they will "know" someone before hand. We met several people due to the disboards and still stay in touch. We are actually sailing with two families that we met last year again this October.

i went into my cruise expecting to spend the whole time with ust my family not making any friends. Still today I email the friends that i made every single day.

Just wait until u get on the cruise... then u will make alot of new friends...

Another vote for the cruise meet board...We met some wonderful families on the board before we cruised...and like American Scrapper said..we still stay in touch and are all crusing together in Oct. I can't wait...not only to get back on the Magic...but to meet up with our wonderful friends again.

Matter of fact...my dd6 met and e-mailed another cruiser her age prior to the trip...and saw her in the termainal before we even stepped foot on the ship(reconized her by a photo that was sent).
