We are doing character meals for the first time, and on our last day before we go to MK I made a PS for us to have breakfast at 'Ohanas. I searched and found few reviews, or maybe i'm searching wrong? But can someone tell me how it is and if we'll love it? Is the food good? Is the character interaction good? It'll be me, DH, DBIL who's 22, and DD2yrs.

You get bonus points if you post pictures ;) ;) ;)

It's good. Nothing fancy, but good. (We actually walked over from the GF for Tonga Toast only to find Kona closed for refurbishment and ate at Ohana b/c we were starved!) Eggs, fruit, hashbrowns, etc. The CM's will start parades and march around with the kids, waving their napkins. Cute!

We weren't overly impressed with the food. Or the charactor interaction at our charactor meal.

food was above-average... kids loved the mickey waffles (esp biting his ears off while he was watching! LOL!)... character interaction was excellent (but it was a slow day, not too crowded)... the kids really enjoyed the maracas and "parade" thru the restaurant... coffee was best on property (that i tasted)... it's not a "must do" on our list, but we're glad we did it :flower:

ah. mixed reviews. I think I will stick with our PS. We've never been to the Poly, to stay or eat or anything. I would have done a dinner but we've made other dinner plans during our stay, and I thought it would be a plus to do breakfast with characters at the Poly. A great way to start the day at MK. Plus.... if my DH likes it enough, I might be able to convince him to stay there some time ;)

We liked the breakfast. The kids like the parade around the restaurant. The food was good. Standard breakfast fare. The bread is fabulous though. I didn't care for the sausages.

You have to try it for dinner if you get the chance. It is yummmmyyyyy.

We just got back from DW on Monday, and I have to say that O'Hana's was our favorite Character meal this time around.

I don't recall that you mentioned when you were going to be there, but when we went, we took the latest time available. It wasn't very crowded and the character interaction was wonderful.

Have a great trip,

Mrs. PB

We went in September and really enjoyed it! As others have said, the food is standard (with the exception of the yummy pineapple bread - sounds weird but it is so moist and good!), but the character interaction was awesome. Chip and Dale, Goofy, and Mickey in Hawaiin garb.

And if you haven't been to the Poly, it'll be nice to check it out. Let the little one play down at the beach for a few minutes while you wait for the boat to MK.

We went to the 'Ohana breakfast as a last minute thing when DS was 21 months old and it was our best character meal. The food was decent - nothing outstanding - but DS really had a good time. It seemed to be his favorite of the character meals we did. The service was good and I wish I could share a pic of DS and Mickey that we got there but I can't find it on the computer. The only problem we had was that Goofy skipped our table and DS knew he had not seen him yet so we had to get our server to come over....Goofy didn't seem too thrilled about that (I think he thought we were trying to see him twice or something  ) but DS didn't seem to notice.

Just went there 4/12. The hostess was fun, but our server seemed as if she couldn't be bothered with us... which is def. not what I look for in a server. Since it was our last morning, we'd booked the latest time available. Maybe she was feeling rushed to get tables cleared? I don't know... that whole, book the last table of the seating has never proved to give us more character interaction... anywhere.

The food was mildly good. All the breakfast food we had on this trip really seemed similar regardless of where we ate... except for O'Hana's pineapple bread. Dh and I liked it but the kids didn't.

I felt very relaxed, laid back in here... I don't know if that's because it was the location of our table... in a corner... tables seemed nicely spaced, not too crowded, or b/c it wasn't overly crowded (end of breakfast time, remember), or b/c it was our last day and I wasn't feeling anxious to get to the next thing -- b/c the next thing was heading home :(

The characters were dressed in Hawaiian garb... Mickey had a red and white flora Hawaiian shirt and lei. The characters just did the basic, meet and photo... 30 seconds or less kind of feeling... nothing spectacular tableside. However, they handed out maracas for a parade around the restaurant and Chip grabbed my dd5 by the hand and paraded around with her hand in hand. That was cool!

As for proximity to MK, it's great.... Food, good to above average... Character interaction, fair... atmosphere, casual, relaxed, laid-back... service, hit or miss, for us lackluster.

Would we do it again? Not in a big hurry to... but if it fit into our plans, probably.
