Will we lose our FP+ Reservations on upgrade??

We currently have 2 day tickets that went unused during a previous trip. We got those tickets when we booked a free dining package, which required us to purchase 2 day tickets even though we were AP holders. Our APs have since expired.

Linking those tickets to our upcoming trip in MDE, we were able to book FP+ reservations. We were allowed 2 days of FP+ reservations. We plan to upgrade our 2day tickets to APs when we arrive at the Magic Kingdom.

Will we lose our FP+ reservations when we upgrade to APs ??? I hope they can assign us the new ticket numbers in MDE without losing the FP+ reservations we have already made. Has anyone done this?

I just did this myself day before yesterday (Had purchased a package with a 7 day ticket, in the meanwhile bought annual passes and wanted to change my reservation). I had no problems and kept my FastPass + reservations because after they finished changing my reservation to room only they transferred me to the Internet Help desk who then linked my Annual passes to my reservation. What they told me was I was able to keep my FastPass + reservations because I was doing everything on the same phone call. Granted, this took over an hour total time but they were able to keep everything for me. Or let me say, at least so far :)

Nope.

And, as soon as you get the AP assigned, you can make additional advance FP+ reservations (on the days following your current FP+ reservations) using the AP.

Yours is a different situation from that of the OP.

Another (and likely less difficult) way to accomplish what you did in an hour phone call... would have been to wait until you were at WDW and just gone to a ticket booth and upgraded your 7-day tickets to AP's.
(Maybe you had a specific reason that you wanted to convert to "room only.")

We did exactly what you are talking about in August. We also had unused 2-day tickets that we had purchased to get free dining, so we went to Downtown Disney on arrival day to trade them in for AP's. The two days worth of FP+ reservations remained unchanged and worked just fine. Then, I spent the rest of the night making FP+ reservations for the rest of my trip!
