Will we like AKL pool view?

The savannah view was a little too costly for our crew this time and there were no standard view rooms available for AP. So we went in the middle range with pool view. Are there any animals in sight of the pool view rooms, or do you see only that: the pool? Thanks.

At feeding time (about 4:00 p.m.) we could see animals on the savannah past the pool areas. We were only back at the room at that time two days, but once we saw giraffes and once ankole cattle. It was nice just sitting on the balcony looking at the pool and the savannah, plus it doesn't take much time at all to get to the pool, Mara, the game room and Boma and Jiko.

We stayed in a savannah view. While we were there I said I would like a pool view room at AKL. The pool and surroundings are beautiful, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I remember while sitting in one of the hot tubs we could see giraffe on the savannah.

We also had a Savannah view last time we went and decided to go with a pool view this time. We just think we are going to like it better.

Thanks for your replies. I'm feeling good about this decision. Mrs JHenry, just out of curiousity, why do you think you'll like the pool view better?

We liked seeing the animals but when they were not out we were looking at some trees and dirt.
Also after the first night (for us) the excitement wore off of seeing the animals.

The pool area is beautiful!!! We loved it so we think we will love looking over it when we are out on our balcony.
ALSO.... a MUCH shorter walk. The walk down to some of the Savannah view rooms was QUITE long. Not a real big deal but after a long day in the park... well... it seemed even longer. Also you are closer to Mara's which is nice.

We paid for a pool view and got complimentary upgrade to savannah. Next time, I will keep the pool view!

You very well may get an upgrade to savannah. You may want to take it just so you can experience it once. I am glad I did it cuz I would always "wonder." But I can say with confidence that I will not stay in another savannah room at AKL.

ETA: Also, at night, there is nothing to see, but I bet the pool view would be beautiful! You could view a different type of "wildlife!" LOL!

We had a pool view last April and loved it! We could walk just down the hall to a Savannah overlook and sit and watch the animals so we felt we had that as an option (which we took advantage of). The pool view was really spectacular - very tropical! Another plus is that if you have a pool view you are fairly close to the main lobby, food court, and restaurants.

Depending on what trail you are on you might be able to see animals off in the distance on the Uzima Overlook Savanna. If you are on the Zebra trail in a pool view room then your view will be just that of the pool. The pool area of the AKL is truely beautiful. We have stayed in pool view rooms twice as that and savanna view rooms three times and we truely enjoyed each and every trip.

We loved our pool view at AKL. It was in zebra trail -room 3462. It was same floor as lobby, steps away from elevator, doorway to pool, animal lookout area - perfect!! We couldn't believe how gorgeous our view was - no animals though. Which was better for us because if we looked at animals from the balcony, the kids wouldn't have wanted to leave the room and we enjoyed going exploring for them more. At night, the pool area was lit up with music playing. It was wonderful! It was whisper quiet in our room also, no noise at all from the pool. And most pool views seem to have some palm trees and other foliage in front to give it a more private feeling. Didn't obstruct the view, just added to it.
