Will we have trouble going to Disney Springs NYE?

First time going to WDW over the holidays. We are interested in going to Disney Springs on NYE around 7 to listen to some music and enjoy the atmosphere.

We are not staying on site and will be driving there. Historically will Disney Springs be at capacity like the parks and turn away people?

I'll let others weigh-in, but Disney Springs can be chaotic on any given weekend evening. NYE??? I gotta think it's kooky, but I've been wrong before. Just once, but still ;)

I can’t speak to NYE, but we went last year 2 nights before for the Christmas Tree stroll and I vowed never again during that week. It was just PACKED - we couldn’t move. I doubt it reaches official capacity but it was honestly impossible to enjoy the atmosphere.

I would anticipate 7PM on NYE being late to arrive. Not sure if they close to capacity but if they do I’d anticipate that would start earlier.

If you do go, please pack your patience leaving. DS is notoriously slow moving traffic out on busy nights.

We were at Disney Springs on 12/7. We arrived around 5:00pm and all of the garages were full except the Grapefruit garage. Getting into the garage was a pain. It was crowded and only became more crowded as the night went on. There was barely any room to move about by the time we left around 9pm, and there were still more people entering than leaving the Grapefruit Garage. I can't imagine how much worse it will be on NYE, but I would guess finding parking that late in the day will be nearly impossible.

Sometimes when the garages are full they will prevent anyone from entering, sometime they will still let you enter to see if you can find a spot. I would expect on NYE it will be the latter as most people arriving are likely not going to be leaving before the night is over.

Unless you plan properly and get to Disney Springs on time, you're better off watching New Year's TV instead. It's going to be a madhouse on Disney property around this time of year.

NYE 2019@Disney Springs. There is room to stand. Post pandemic it seemed less crowded (with park reservation system/crowd controls) and enjoyable with the snow, Santa etc.

We’ve never been to DS. We went once when it was downtown Disney maybe back in 2013 and decided it’s not for us.

This year we will go there for a breakfast ADR. Might cancel our second resort/DS day and hit the pool if temps climb to 75+

We like the restaurants, World Of Disney, the Disney art store and Christmas shop. Most of the rest of the shops are of no interest to us, and many can be found in other locations. I think it's worth a look, but not on NYE
