I wanted to maybe book this and check out the straw market but will we have time to do both. It's me and 2 boys 5/9. It says it's 3.5-4 hours and we need to walk 15 min to the boat each way. Where in relation is this to the market and the ship. We are only there from 8-245.

Since you're booking directly with Disney, you will be escorted off the ship and walk as a group to meet the boat for your excursion. The straw market is not far from the port at all, and so when you return from your excursion you'll be able to judge what do you have time or not. To be honest the only time issue I've experienced with Nassau is sometimes the security check going back out to the ships can have a long line.

Not sure what your specific cruise's itinerary is, but ours has us in Nassau until 5pm. That would leave plenty of time for the straw market if you're back at 2:45.

No we are only at Nassau till 245 so I was thinking we might not be able to do both. Don't know why it's such a short day. Guess I'm gonna have to wait and see, might be too cold to snorkel anyways.

Oh I'm sorry, I totally misread that! For some reason my brain read that as your excursion ending at 2:45, not the ship leaving at 2:45.

What time does the excursion start?

Not sure how much it has changed, but when we visited the straw market in 2000 with our daughter, who was 9 at the time, vendors were constantly grabbing her arm to try on jewelry or hats, etc. She didn't like that at all. I finally had to have her walk behind me and be interference.

Depends when you leave for your excursion. We had an 8 am Nassau day (shops and Market don't really open till 8:30-9, on a weekday, don't know about weekend) but we had a 10:45 excursion. We got off the ship at 8:15 went to Starbucks (they are open early) and walked around. Shops started to open, then shopped till about 10 and were back at our excursion meeting place on ship at 10:30. I noticed the Straw Market was open on the way back but didn't stop in as we had to get back. There weren't a lot of people there yet and was way calmer then when we came back from excursion. Seemed crazy when we came back from excursion.

Edited to add, The Morning was a great time to shop no crowds at all and we were in and out of each store we planned to go to quickly. It was much more enjoyable then in the afternoon, albeit we had to wait a little for 2 to open for us.
