Have the free dining offers for the U.S. generally mirrored the ones that are offered in the U.K.? I am just wondering if they "do" offer free dining in 2012 for the U.S., (which I would probably bet on, at least during September) will you have to upgrade to at least a deluxe in order to get the regular plan. With the economy in as bad shape that it is, and looking as if it will not be getting any better, I just wonder if they will possibly makes us american citizens fork over more money. When I do go deluxe, it seems as though renting DVC points will always be a better deal.

If you are staying deluxe the room discount is always the better deal, as is renting points and paying oop, I totally agree with you. This year we took the room discount and are not even buying the dining plan, for us we would just be breaking even. Free dining is not always the best discount.

From what I remember from the last few years, the offers are very different and similar to the ones now available (nothing for value, qsdp for mod, and basic for deluxe)
