Ok. Give me the low down on Dinosaur and the Aerosmith Coaster. Has anybody gotten really sick on it? or had any 7 year olds ride either and get totally freaked out?

we've done the Aerosmith roller coaster, it was awesome. The few times roller coaster have ever made me sick, were one's outside. For some reason,if it's inside and somewhat dark,I'm good. The ride and the music is awesome! When we rode, DD was 12,and she loved it! :cool1:

dinosaur scared the heck out of me the first 2 times i went on it (i was 20 at the time). eventually i learned to just keep my eyes shut and now it's not so bad. all the bumping around, i could see how it could make you feel ill.
rock n rollercoaster on the other hand is great. it is so smooth i didn't even realize it went upside down the first time i went on it. plus you're held very securely in the car so it doesn't feel scary at all. if your child is tall enough i bet they would love this ride.

You might like it, you might get frightened: That's the fun of it!

I cant see anyone getting sick on those rides - Mission Space.... Another story

:earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2:

Dinosaur scared the living daylights out of me and I won't ride it again. But I'm also one that hates horror movies and being scared.

RnR is a bit rough at times. Just keep your head back against the seat to avoid it banging side to side.

Last year, my very-easily-spooked DS rode Dinosaur and was fine.

I'm prone to motion sickness, but never felt nauseated on either Dinosaur and RRC (my favorite ride.)

After riding Mission Space, however, I was DONE for about 6 hours.

my ds 8 got freaked out on dinasour. it has nothing to do with the actual ride since you are just in a big jeep simulator. there are no drops or big hills. it is just really dark and big dinasoures are screaming and breathing on you. it is bumpy though. aerosmith was great and it is over so fast you really dont have time to get sick! have fun!

I was a little worried about Dinosaur because of the jostling around, but didn't feel ill at all. I don't get sick on coasters, but the piece of advice I'd give is don't go on RnR Coaster if you have a headache :rotfl: !! I thought my head was going to blow off my shoulders from the pain :teeth: . It's a great ride when you don't have a headache though.

RnR is a little rough, my son rode it when he was 6 with no problems. DH gets motion sickness pretty bad, can't even spin around more than 3 times, and RnR did make him nauseous. The rest of us loved it.

Dinosaur is terrific. DS went on that too and no problem with it

First of all, make sure that you do not eat right before you go on any thrill ride that may go fast, upside down etc. This may help with not getting an upset stomach.

Rockin' Roller Coaster is a fast roller coaster, you go from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds straight into a loop so if you know that your child will not be able to handle that much less an upside down corkscrew you may want to bypass this ride or at least ride it by yourself before you make that decision. I will be taking a 6 and an 8 year old and doing child swap with my BF. I personally just do not think that they are big enough physically to ride it yet, even if RNR height requirement says they are. It's just a personal decision. I don't want to get them strapped in one of those seats and then they freak out and there's nothing you can do about it. :earseek:

Dinosaur is a rough ride and a little fast but you are seatbelted in. :earseek:
Really I would say of you have a child that is scared of the dark and/or loud noises than I think you should check out both of these rides alone before you take them.

Dinosaur is extremely rough and bouncy. I had forgotten that my sunglasses were perched on the top of my head, the CM checking seatbelts kindly reminded me that if I wanted to keep them I'd better remove them. Boy was he right, they would have been lost forever! DD7 hates this ride! SHe spent the entire ride with her face buried in my jacket. She's usualle fearless but for some reason this and Juraissic Park at US set her off.

My DD was 6 when she rode Dinosaur and it didn't scare her. Just explain to your child that nothing in there is real and there is nothing that will hurt him/her.

It depends alot on the child--we went on Dinosaur(my advice--buy ear plugs), our 8 yr DS who loves dinosaurs refused--so my DS's aged 18 and 15 and DD aged 6 went on with me and we were so scared!! Yet there were smaller kids on the ride and they loved it!
The older boys had ridden all of the other scary rides at the parks but this one had us all screaming like "little girls"! :earseek:
The dinosaurs themselves are really cool except the carnotaur :scared1: -LOTS of teeth in your face! It's so extremely loud and really "tosses" you around that I think that is what is so scary about it!
Spent the entire ride trying to cover my ears, my daughter's ears and hide my eyes! Wish we would have known about how loud it was because I think if we would have had ear plugs we would have enjoyed it. The picture at the end was hilarious though....
As for Aerosmith RnR-for some reason the CM would not let our daughter on-she's 50" tall(maybe because she has such a tiny frame and narrow little shoulders that the harness may not have held her safely?!) and once again our DS(8) refused so they stayed with DH and I went on with the older boys and we loved it  -at the very beginning, the 0- 60 part, you feel like your chest is being literally pressed through the back of the seat-which freaked me out-plus when you go upside down we all felt like we were going to fall out..........but once that was over with we thought it was the best ride and I am the biggest "ride chicken" in the world! :teeth:
However when I got off the ride I felt like I was going to fall over-spent the rest of the holiday :tilt: -doctor said he thinks the ride did something to my inner ear--didn't hurt just made me off balance a little! I'd ride again in a minute though!

Yes, definitely tell your kids this. We rode for our first time this year & my 10 year old daughter ended up with a hurt neck after riding... and then begged to go ride again! But I do wish I had warned her of this beforehand. Her neck actually hurt for a couple of days. ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo

I didn't like Dinosaur. Not because of the dark or bumpiness, but i felt that it was too dark to see anything and the ride really didn't seem to have a constant theme or really mean much at all. I won't be riding it again.

My 2 eight year olds rode RNR 3 times last week and loved EVERY minute of it. They also loved Space Mountain and were fairly indifferent on Dinosaur. But my DD cried and buried her head on The Great Movie Ride - go figure! :goodvibes

OHMIGOSH!!! I did the same thing!!! Didn't have enough coffee in the morning and we got fast passes first thing but there was no line. So we rode. Great - no problems. I have always LOVED this ride. But I had a twinge of a headache starting when we got back in line with our fast passes. When we got off - I RAN to the drinking fountain to gulp down some Excedrin Migraine - OH THAT PAIN!!!

I am scared, very scared of coasters but love RNRC, I think it has something to do with it being indoors and you can't really see whats coming up next, so no anticipation fear. Dinosaur is tame to me, just bumpy. My 8yr old brother though freaked out crying and covering his face the whole time. Some loud noises, etc... but nothing too scary IMO.

Hi!

I have a bad habit of getting motion sick (seasickness and airplanes, mostly), so I'm always wary when I hear about bumpy and/or fast rides. Here was my rundown of the rides when I went on them:

Rockin Rollercoaster: VERY fast but not bumpy as long as you keep your head against the headrest. It is pretty quick and it helps that you are in the dark. A little dizzy afterwards (so was everyone else) but not motion sick at all.

Dinosaur: bumpy ride, and you'll lurch around in your seat a lot! I wouldn't do this one after lunch, but otherwise I was fine.

Tower of Terror: BEWARE! I nearly lost my breakfast on this ride! Since the ride goes up and down for many drops (without warning or pattern), it wreaks havoc on your stomach. But a LOT of fun if you're willing to risk it!

Mission Space: STAY AWAY! I haven't been on this ride yet, but anything that has to have airsick bags on the ride itself sounds like major trouble! This is a killer for even non-motion sick folks.

Hope that helps! :smooth:

::yes:: Yep, yep, yep. I couldn't figure out for the first couple of days during my first trip why I was getting a headache every day, then my spouse said, "maybe it's because you haven't been drinking your diet Mt Dew". That was exactly what the problem was. I ran, not walked, to the nearest supermarket and stocked up :drinking: . No more headaches at WDW since. I know it's terrible that I'm that addicted to caffeine, but there are worse things I guess.
