I just received an e-mail that we are short on the room night guarantee... somehow we went from having 83 room nights to 71... I don't really understand how we could go down so low. We have had one cancellation since the final count went in and that was for 5 nights...so that should only bring us down to 78... help... did any of the past brides actually get charged for this? if we do, we'll lose our entire deposit... this is putting a damper on my excitement for the wedding... :guilty:

We are still planning, but I wouldn't worry too much. I got an e-mail from our planner last week saying we had only 10 rooms blocked . . . turns out we had 20. I was told sometimes they get things "confused" in the count.
You are so close! Please don't let this ruin your excitement. I am sure it will work out.

ask them for the list of rooms and compare it to the reservations everyone has - they've probably missed putting one on your list.

As far as the charge, I haven't gotten that far yet, but I think they do charge you. Depending on your minimum, they will charge you for the number of nights you are short of the minimum at the cheapest hotel you put in your block. so, if you're 5 nights short of your minimum, and your cheapest rooms were $100, you'd owe $500. Hope that helps.

I've heard other people before asking for people's reservation numbers on this board to count towards their minimums. To count all they have to do is have a reservation at a Disney resort during the time of your wedding and you can count the nights if you have their reservation code.

if you are at all concerned post a thread in the vacation areas and forums for reservation numbers. you can just add them on to your block to be safe. good luck

Diane, if you are still short, I am going to WDW from Dec 17-21. I do not think those dates encompass your wedding, but I have heard that you may be able to use dates that aren't too far away from your wedding. PM me if you want my confirmation number.

I would definately compare the two lists. It might be that some didn't book through the information that was provided through FTW for their "discounted rate" and booked the traditional way. So these rooms might not be on the list. I have heard that this was the case for other brides.

Im sure there is a mistake somewhere! Just check and see! Call, like others have said, to get a list of the reservations!!

Yes, you probably will be charged for attritition if there is no mistake! Thats how they will make the money back that they could have sold your blocked rooms for!

Definitely check and make sure, because attrition adds up in a hurry!

Also, post your situation and hopefully others on the boards will help you out!

We are going to WDW for our planning session next weekend. Do you want to see if you can use our rooms for your room block?

Call group reservations and ask them to email or fax you an Alpha list or just your room block to you so you can take a look at it -

AW! :( I know you had posted a thread asking people to book in the name of your wedding and I thought you had it all taken care of. I'm so sorry that this might happen for you. That is such a fear we have too. What a crummy way to WASTE money. I'm sure it'll get worked out! I really wish we could come down that week and help you out, but we won't be there until January. Keep us updated, and try not to let it put too much of a damper on your special day :wizard:

ETA I just saw your ticker. I knew you were close, but only 1 day left!?!?!? Yeahoo!! You've probably left already, so I hope everything worked out for you :) :)
