Will we be safe?

Let's just assume that I asked the wrong kind of question at the wrong time and let it go.

There was nothing wrong with your question. I'm sorry it was taken the wrong way. And more sorry that you were singled out.

I suspect the real person they were angry with is the person who posted a few days earlier. You got the brunt of that and it isn't right. Please let us know how your trip goes either good or bad.

Please don't feel that you were being singled out but more the fact that other silly threads were being singled out that caused you enough concern to post here.

The "concern" that caused me to post here came from comments made by my niece... not any of the overblown "I'm never going back to Universal because -insert incident that could have happened anywhere here-" threads on the Disney board. I thought I made that clear, but I guess not.

I also asked questions about what to do with my two children at the ages they are and where to feed them since they are both currently fussy eaters. It wasn't my only post, just the only one that struck a nerve and got ridiculed. Like I said, apparently bad timing.

Again, it's no big deal. As the Black Knight would say, 'Tis but a flesh wound...

I'm going to try my hand at a trip report when I return. It'll take me awhile, since I am the only person left on the planet that still takes 35mm pictures... gets them developed at the drug store... then brings them home and scans them... but I'll do my best to give a fun and fair accounting of all I see and do.

Even if you don't do a trip report you can let us know how it went. Either "It was truly magical and everyone was polite and smiling and the streets were so clean they sparkled" or "OMG, keep your children by your side and learn karate." ;)

I was a DIS'er who found the post inappropriate and in poor taste. We're not talking about service-related issues, trash being seen in either park, commando stroller parents, etc. One of the examples given was a little girl being molested at a pool on vacation, an 11-year-old child. I believe you're in close proximity to WDW and assume you heard what they found on the guy (the video camera and microphones). How this can even be remotely compared to someone's teenage niece being hit on by other teenagers is beyond me.
If the "cool kids" think it's okay to use this example an excuse to be sarcastic about their beloved theme park(s) -- which I'm as much of a junkie as the next guy -- y'all are in a gang I want no part of. The cool kids I know don't use an 11-year-old being fondled at a pool on vacation by a sicko armed with video cameras and microphones to make their sarcastic points about which theme park is safest.

Yeah, I read the sarcasm in the post -- clear as day. Doesn't mean I have to agree with it, nor find it appropriate. Not to mention compassionate.

 :cheer2: :thumbsup2

You probably made it clear. I just have a bad memory and it sounds like a bunch of the rest here do to!!!

:rotfl: I don't think I've ever had an "everyone was smiling" experience at any theme park... and karate is usually only necessary when I am trying to get through parade crowds when I didn't know there was going to be a parade and I am just trying to hack my way past the masses... but I'll let you know... ;)
