Hello,
DH and I are tentatively planning our very first Disney cruise, actually our first cruise of any kind. I was planning on booking a category 7 or 8 initially but with all the other costs (air, transfers, shore excursions, tipping etc...) I'm not sure I can justify the price difference of a 7 or 8 over just booking the 11. DH will be graduating from nurse anesthesia school this August and we're hoping to purchase our first house this fall so I know the extra money will be needed for other things. We're hoping to do the 7 night Western in March of '04. It will be our last "big" vacation before we have kids (we hope!). I guess I just want some assurance that I won't be disappointed if I book the 11. Thanks for your opinions!

When we booked for last Nov Eastern I booked a cat 10 on deck 2 for DH, DS10 and myself. Was then able to change it to a secret porthole. Anyway you can check into that?

I've done a 12, a 6 and a 7, and this next trip we're doing a 10. Particularly on your first trip, I think an inside cabin is fine. The rooms are still very nice and only slightly smaller, and you'll be so busy exploring the ship that you won't miss a verandah. You can look forward to getting it on the 7 day trip!

To save money this time, I opted for a cat 10 inside cabin on the very aft of deck 7 so I can pop out onto the larger, but typically uncrowded or empty, public verandah at the very aft of 7 when I feel the need.

We like Cat. 11 so much that we just booked our third cruise in one!

There are pictures from my previous two trips at the links in my signature, including pictures of the cabin.

We were just two adults on the first trip, and three adults on the second, and had plenty of room. We'll be two adults with an occasional visit from granddaughter on our upcoming trip, and should still have plenty of room.

I've got to agree with Beth. We had a cat. 11 for 2 adults and ds-11. We thought it was great. We're going again, same exact room! The nice thing about most of the cat. 11's is location. Some higher cats. are on deck 2 under the restuarants. Most people say the rooms are fine.

We were never in our room for long, so why bother with the higher cost. Now, if I hit the lottery.....I think I might like to try something else! Have fun!

We are a family of four and loved cat 11 so much that we just booked another one. We all seem to sleep much better there. It is very dark and quiet, add to that the waves and you'll be sleeping like a baby. We found that we never slept in though. We were more rested in fewer hours. I have no idea how it works but it was great!

The ship is so beautiful you'll enjoy being there in any cabin.

Have a great time!:D

Hello!

I think you will be fine in a category 11. I married on the Disney Wonder (Castaway Cay) last year. I booked category 11 for all my guests as well as myself and husband! Everyone loved it! Enjoy!

I wish I was in a category 11 right now as we speak!! But really- there is so much going on..that you will get ready and sleep in your room- that is about it. On our 1st- we had a cat 11 and were fine with it- the best nights sleep I ever had. The 2nd- we were upgraded to a cat 8 and now DH likes a window- but I would still prefer a cat 11- well maybe a 10 due to the split baths- but anyway- the room layout of the insides is better than the outsides- IMO.
