Will we be able to book for Oct?

My DH and I are considering starting the ball rolling on purchasing a resale within the next couple days My only concern is that we really want to go for a shorter trip in October, from the 22nd-26th (4 nights), the resale would have enough points available for us to do this however, I am wondering if there will be open bookings? I wouldn't want to buy into DVC then not be able to use the points for our trip because it is only ~7-8 months out. We really want to stay at AKL (this would be our home resort) and would really like to do a studio savanna view club level do you think this would be possible? If that isn't possible we are willing to stay pretty much anywhere in a studio do you think we would have a problem with these dates if we are flexible?

issue 1) there are only about 5 club level studios.

issue 2) only a couple of those have a savanna view.

i suspect you should generally plan to book concierge rooms at exactly 11 months out if you want them. and if you want savanna view - you may be better off skipping concierge entirely since the views from the top tend to be a little obstructed from what i understand.

That is true you really want to be on the second floor (lobby floor) to get a great view, below the tops of trees. We went 10/28-11/06 last year. It was terrific. We stayed at Kidani SV for the trip. We purchased in June and the Guide helped us make our reservations right then. It seemed pretty quite there but then that is what we loved..very quiet. I think we were in room 7636 which was on the fourth "bead" to the left of the lobby. It was a bit of a walk but still a great view.

We purchased resale last summer and received our points the first of August. We already had a cash reservation booked for the middle of Sept. We were able to cancel that and book a 1 bedroom with our points. We had multiple choices of rooms only 6 weeks out. We purchased another resale and the points became available the middle of Sept and we were able to book a reservation for the week around Thanksgiving at only 2 months out. The choices for that week were more limited, but we didn't mind.
