Will WDW put REFRESHMENT stands in SB like US?

Hated standing in US SB lines, but loved buying a drink while in line.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty slick. And convenient.

You know something else I noticed? A whole lot more places to sit down.

I didn't notice that but another good idea. :thumbsup2

Two more reasons to be excited! We'll be there in 11 days! Okay, maybe I'm a little more excited about one of those benefits than the other. :rotfl:

Out at DCA, they sell drinks & ice cream in the RSR line. I don't think alcohol though.

What kind of drinks? How long are the lines? Will I have time to finish it before boarding rides? I'm not throwing away booze...

We will be at Universal hopefully during second week of December after our RC cruise. Going on a Sunday afternoon and all day Monday, so hopefully won't be too bad.

From memory, the Harry Potter stuff and the train stations have vending carts in the queues. I didn't look at all the beers but it appeared that several were "themed". With the average wait times for Escape from Gringotts and Forbidden Journey somewhere in the 45 minute range, there's plenty of time to finish a brew as the carts are outside where the queue starts.

Inside the train stations, I wouldn't do it - the vending station is closer to the end where you queue up for the train.

I pray that they don't start selling alcohol. There is nothing worse than being in the company of a person who is drinking if you are a teetotaler like me.

I'm guessing alcohol sales in Epcot constitute a substantial portion of that park's revenue?

Do I really want to be on a roller coaster with people who have been drinking alcohol for 45 minutes before getting on?

Might want to stay away from RnRC then - I've seen people throwing back several before they got in line. Isn't that a beer stand at the entrance?

I guess that is what I always liked about Magic Kingdom. There was a better chance that you could go the whole day without running into an inebriated drunk. Nothing against alcohol as I enjoy a good micro-brew or wine, but I can only imagine 90 minute SB lines, hot, humid days, and drunkenness and the chaos that would ensue.

I agree. I definitely do not want to see more alcohol in the parks. Probably why Magic Kingdom is my favorite park and EPCOT my least. Had the misfortune of planning my last trip during F&W and it was awful. Drunks all around. Smokers always roaming and never in their designated spots. It ruined World Showcase for me.

They allow food and drinks on the train.

I've never seen anyone wasted at WDW, I guess I'm just lucky. I don't mind drinking or being around people who are drinking, but the hot sun and the jerky rides would seem like a bad combination with a few cocktails. Not my idea of a good time.:earsboy:

As for the guy who peed on the tram: That's why they tell you to wait behind the yellow line.

I actually enjoy a drink, maybe two, while at the parks. It really helped DH and I cut down on grumpiness, relax, and just enjoy the moment. I like the idea of having it in lines. If people don't get drunk, it could help people relax and not be so crabby while waiting in line. I'll probably wait to see how I handle Forbidden Journey before drinking while in line though. I heard it makes some people nauseous, even without the alcohol.

Same here. I've only made it to F&W twice and have never seen anyone completely far gone. I have on occasion, but only cause I keep forgetting how strong the La Cava margaritas are :rotfl:

Love the La Cava margaritas. The avocado was great. I'll have to try a new flavor next time.
