Will VHS movies be damaged by xrays for checked luggage

I guess this is a stupid question, but I am getting ready to travel for business and I want to take my exercise tapes with me. Are they okay in my checked luggage? Will the xray screening hurt the tapes?

It should not be a problem. The danger is to unprocessed film, exposed or not.

Magnetic media, such as VHS tapes, can be hurt by strong magnetic fields and by excessive heat. But exposure to x-rays is not a problem.

We are staying at an Embassy Suites and they say there is a VCR in the TV in the living room area.
