we had a great experience with using ME... our luggage was in our room by the time we got back from our character dinner and they picked it the morning that we left.. Hubby was very impressed which says alot! He is so picky... I think after his first trip there... he will go back after such a wonderful experience with ME

I always rent a car when I go to Disney World, but I am considering ME. How early do they pick up your luggage on the morning you depart ? How early did they take you to the airport ? I plan on catching a 2pm flight out of Orlando, how early am I going to be at the airport ?

The day before we left I just pressed luggage on the phone in the room and set up the pick up time for it.
To take the ME back to the airport they sched. you for 3 hours in advance... I thought that was great because the ME might stop at other resorts. From the POP took 30 min to get to the airport.. we were the only family flying out of side A from American so we were the last to be dropped off. Dropped us off right out front as close as one could get. Personally I would say save that rental car money and let Disney spoil you.

Thank you for the info, one more for ya'. Can I have my luggage picked up a few hours before I am scheduled to depart the resort ? Or do they pick it up in the am ? If I take the 11:00am bus to the airport, can I have them pick up the luggage at 10:00am that day ?
Do you usually use Disney transportation ? or rent a car ?

I would suggest earlier pick up for luggage.. If you are doing boarding passes at the hotel like we did I would suggest first thing in the morning.. our buss from the hotel left at 8:40 am so we had them pick up luggage at 7 am- this is when they start the pick up.. did our preflight check in... ate breakfast.. then returned to check on luggage and get boarding passes once they had the luggage. It was very smooth and easy. This was our first family trip to Disney, thought about renting a car and we are glad we didnt. We used their transportation to get around to the parks and other hotels for meals. At times it was a long wait but so much easier then trying to drive in a place we knew nothing about... also if the lines got too backed up they would bring in another buss. After we saw wishes at MK we headed straight for the buss line that was like 2 football fields long.. lol... thought we would be there all night but they increased our busses to 4! so it went pretty fast to get back to Pop century. They even converted a vip buss over for us to use.

We just arrived home on thursday and the ME was great at each leg of the trip. When we arrived, we were concerned about our luggage since our flights had been delayed and connections rushed. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at MCO to be put immediately on a bus which left within 10 minutes. Check in was a breeze-no line and our luggage arrived at ou room within ten minutes! Our return trip was just as effortless as we took advantage of the resort kiosk and got our boarding passes and checked our luggage in the morning. We were able to spend a leisurely day at the park and return to board our ME bus to the airport. It actually arrived 5 minutes early and we were off again. I guess they have all of the kinks out!

This is probably a silly question, but when checking out , do you check your carry-ons as well, or where do you leave them while taking your last-minute tour around the parks? Do you leave them at the front desk, as you would when arriving before your room is ready? Or does ME handle them?

from my understanding you can leave them at the front desk and then pick them up when you are ready to leave. This is what they told us to do before I changed our flight to a earlier one.

A quick question.
How long is the line/wait for Airline/Baggage check in. Our pick up will probabaly be about noon. How much in advance should we plan on for checking in etc.

We checked our carry-ons with the bellmen's desk. They'll give you a ticket and get your bags upon return. We used the kiosk at the resort to check our luggage and get our boarding passes. It took about 15 minutes tops! We were there at about 10:00 a.m.
