Will u stay a diff resort if no free ddp

We are also waiting for SSR to come up with the discount plus free DDP for either may 2014 or September 2014!

We love onsite but unlike others we also love the DDP and have paid for it twice!! When we did the trip onsite the 1st time in 2006 all of our money went on food and that was when the kids were 1,1,3 so with them now being 8,8,11 next trip I can see us needing a lot of money for food again! If we have the DDP we know we can book all the meals that the boys love and not have to worry about the price!
I feel if we pay for the DDP in with the price of the trip then I don't feel the sting when we see the prices of the meal lmao!

As for staying off site I have been to Disney over 20 times for around 3/4 wks each time ( my parents loved the US I'm adopted but my bio parents is American and so my adoptive parents made sure I was brought up knowing my US family too) we always stayed off site at different places and so I love I-drive as it has so many memories for me :)
Saying that I really love the fact that when we are on site I'm in a total bubble! DH who has never been anywhere but on site hates our off site days last trip lol we stayed at quality inn for a few nights and he said it was awful but that the Fairfield seaworld was ok, so I think it will be onsite for us if he has his way which is fine by me...... I just hope they don't out price us as its getting ridiculous just now!

I'm not sure about may, but September has had a discount for SSR and OKW for three years now, so hopefully it will be back this year!

That is really touching your adoptive parents took you to the US to know your biological parents better. It must leave you with a lot of great memories. I am totally jealous of you staying for three to four weeks at a time! :)

It makes me embarrassed to say I don't think I've even been to idrive- we love the disney bubble. When we factor in the money we'd spend on food and parking, it really just seems worth it to stay onsite.

We are paying approx £300 per night for a two bedroom villa at SSR. The offsite condo we stay at at Reunion is about £100 per night for a three bedroom condo. It's extra space which is nice, but when you factor in food (probably approx £100 a night for all five of us- CS not TS) and parking- about £10, the true cost is about £210 per night and for that little extra money I'd rather just stay onsite and have better food- TS- yum, and feel 'in the magic'.

We will be staying offsite for six nights this October/ November trip because I can't justify spending the extra money on a Disney hotel when we won't be doing the Disney parks. We love the apartment we rent in Reunion though, and I can't wait to explore central Florida and idrive. Still debating whether or not to do Universal though. :)

As for the DDP, we love it- but many of the Americans on here say that restaurants have really gotten a lot worse since its introduction. I'm surprised because I think generally the food is great! (I will never, however, understand the biscuits in sausage gravy.) Besides, the DDP and not having to 'pay' is why we love it so much!
