We're Home, Part 1
Both DH and I managed to fall asleep pretty quickly, but before we knew it, the alarm was going off and it was time to get ready. Our first stop was Old Point Royale to grab some breakfast. We got there about 6:45 and found out that nothing opened until 7:00, they didn't even have the menus up on the boards yet. I was a little surprised because it was marathon weekend, and that was the morning of the 5k, there were runners milling around that had finished the race, but there were no options for food yet. We went on the app to figure out what we wanted and once the registers opened, we ordered our breakfast.

I did a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich and it came with potatoes on the side. DH went with the ham and cheese omelet which also came with a side of potatoes. Not pictured is my latte, running on only a few hours of sleep, I was desperate for some caffeine! I really enjoyed my bagel sandwich, the bagel was toasted, but still soft and the potatoes were very good. DH said his omelet was your standard, but he liked it, he thought his potatoes were a little bland, but once he added some salt, they tasted better.
After breakfast, we headed to the bus stop at Old Point Royale, there were a couple of other families there, but no problems boarding the bus and getting a seat. The bus made a couple of other stops and then we were off to Magic Kingdom! Once there, we made it through security and before we knew it, we were looking at this beauty!

Our last trip to Magic Kingdom was September 2022 and it felt so good to be back! We decided to use our early entry to ride Seven Dwarves Mine Train, we figured most everyone would head to Tron, and we had a lightening lane to use later, but this would probably be our best time to ride Mine Train. We were able to get as far as the Cheshire Cafe before we were stopped.

This was about 8am, at 8:30, they let us go and then the chaos began! Okay, it wasn't that bad, but rope drop is always interesting to experience. We made it over to Mine Train, we were held up for a few minutes but were soon making our way through the queue. We were in line for about 15 minutes before it was our time to ride. We got the back row, which was a first for us, I'm definitely a back row rider, I love the back row and will take it any time over the front.

I will mention that DH is a little obsessed with searching for Hidden Mickey's, we actually had the pleasure of meeting up with Steve Barrett (who writes the Hidden Mickey books) at Hollywood Studios back in 2020. There is an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in the mining scene of the ride, but neither of us is ever able to find it, still couldn't find it on this ride. There was also another one in the exit queue that we couldn't find either. Oh well, guess, we'll have to book another trip to Disney!
After Mine Train, we made a quick bee line to another one of my favorites, Peter Pan's Flight. I don't know what it is, but there is something so magical about this ride to me. The line was posted at 25 minutes, but it was about 19 minutes. We had a good laugh in line, a woman with her young son was behind us and he was absolutely terrified to ride, the mom was telling him how he rode Slinky Dog the day before and this was nothing compared to that. Throughout the whole queue, the boy was pretty scared and crying, but as we get to Darling home and we see the portraits of the Darlings, the mom is listing off the Darling children, "That's Wendy, and Michael...and I can't remember the other son" to which DH quips, "Tom". The mom is like, "Tom" and then is like, "wait a minute, is it Tom". To which, I'm like, "no, it's John, my DH just likes to mess with people". A few people around us heard this exchange and laughed and the little boy thought this was really funny and he didn't seem upset to ride anymore. Soon we were on our way to Neverland and saying hello to the mermaids

It was then time to leave Fantasyland and head to Tomorrowland, along our way, we passed this lovely sight

The Cast Member was in the midst of drawing another character, but we were on a mission and didn't have time to stay. Our next stop

It was time to explore Space Mountain, posted wait time was 20 minutes, but we got through the queue in 15 minutes. We then headed to our battle stations with Buzz

DH proudly was a Galactic Hero, scoring 999,999, my score was pretty pathetic, I was a Space Ace with 323,600. When we came off of Buzz, we found the crowds, the line was now at 25 minutes and extended outside.
We decided that it was time to cross the hub and head over to Adventureland, along the way, we stopped for a snack

Cheeseburger Spring rolls!! The babies are so yummy! DH and I each had one and pretty much scarfed them in a couple of bites. After our quick snack, we headed to the Jungle Cruise, this is probably DH's favorite attraction, corny jokes and puns are his MO. The wait time was posted at 25 minutes, but shortly after we got in line it went to 30 and by the time we got into our boat, we had been in line for 40 minutes. Our skipper was Molly, and she was very entertaining!

As we were on the ride, we came to a stop in the elephant pool, there was quite a backup, and it was almost 15 minutes until we were finally back at the dock, not sure what the holdup was, but Molly was fantastic and kept us rolling in puns. Since we were celebrating my birthday, I was also serenaded with the birthday song. We had been hoping to ride Pirates, but between the longer than expected wait time and our delay in getting off the ride, our lightening lane for Tron had opened up, so it was time to head back to Tomorrowland!
Up Next: Finally, we get to ride Tron!
