Will Tiana's Place EVER be available to landlubbers?

Hi everyone. I see there's one on a Disney cruise ship but I'm not interested in that. Why is there no Tiana's Place in WDW yet? On the strength of the popularity of The Princess and the Frog, as well as New Orleans cuisine, this is a puzzling oversight to me. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think it took them this long after Beauty and the Beast to open Be Our Guest. And you can't tell me they don't have room for it on land, so...who thought it was a better idea just to have it on a boat--when it was a land-based restaurant in the film? Besides, more Disney visitors - like me! - would get a chance to enjoy it in the World than on a cruise ship. Has anyone heard anything about this or have an inside scoop?

They don't seem to duplicate land and sea, so probably never.

Now, they could build us a Snuggly Duckling in New Fantasyland. And they need to get on that thing.
I don't feel like "Rapunzel's Royal Table" over on the Magic really duplicates "skillet breakfast all day!" at the Snuggly Duckling.

Is anyone going to take a cruise just to eat at one restaurant, though? I definitely wouldn't. And since a cruise holds zero interest to me I'll just never get to eat there.

I don't know any of these answers but it truly makes me sad that the only way I will meet Louis is on DCL. And with Tiana's Riverboat dessert party maybe not being renewed... no way to meet Prince Naveen either!

FWIW at least April 2017 (3 night) Louis didn’t meet at all tables and Naveen wasn’t present

As I understand it, because of his tail Louis can't meet at tables. He is on the main path and people can go to him, but the tail doesn't fit between the tables.

I met Tiana and Naveen at the Halloween party one year. So land is possible. As far as the restaurant, Disney has different things at WDW, DL, DCL, etc. So sometimes if you want a certain thing you have to go elsewhere. I had to go to DL for Blue Bayou. It's fun to go other places and try other things. I've done WDW, DL and all 4 ships. Next up Aulani.

Wow! Okay, I was way off about this. lol Thanks for the info. A 20-year wait tho? The Mouse People seem slow with the obvious movie-to-restaurant connection. Guess it's not as high on their list as it is on mine!

My bbf suggested doing part Disney cruise/part WDW but there is so much I want to see in WDW. I haven't been in years and I'd like to spend a good six nights there when I return. It certainly won't be cheap. I don't think it would be worth the extra expense of a Disney cruise on the front end of the trip just to eat in Tiana's Place. Oh well, I can't have everything, but I do like to try!
