I'm planning an April 2016 trip. We would like to stay at BC but also want to visit US a couple of days. Is it possible to rent a car from the Car Care Center at the Dolphin and just walk there/back from BC when picking up and dropping off the car? Can anyone tell me an approximate daily rate for their car rentals? I'm also an Alamo Insider member. Will that help me with this rental? Thanks!

The Car Care Center is near the MK. There is just a rental desk in the lobby of the hotel. The valets bring the car around to you, It is an easy walk (10 - 15 mins) from the BC. I walked over and picked it up last Oct. The hours are much shorter than a standalone care rental location, 8 - 6 I think. You can drop it off with the valet after they close, but I think you are charged an additional day if you do that.

You can easily walk over to the Dolphin to pick up your car. There is a rental counter inside the lobby, but it has short hours. We usually return our car to the valet after hours and they will give you a receipt with the return time noted so. We have not been charged for an extra day because it is within the scheduled return time. The Car Care Center is a different rental location over by the MK parking lot. It has longer hours and you can call to arrange a shuttle to pick you up and take you there to get the car, but if the hours work for you, the Dolphin location is extremely convenient to the BC.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize the CCC was near MK. Is it near TTC? I'm trying to decide between a few resorts (Poly being one if I can get a good enough rate). It sounds like the CCC is close to the Poly. Would I still need a shuttle if staying there and using the CCC?

From the Transportation & Ticket Center or Polynesian Resort to the Car Care Center near Magic Kingdom is roughly twice the distance from the TTC or Poly to the farthest MK parking lot aisles. (This CCC is beyond the latter.) Ideally you would not walk from the Poly to the TTC first although I'm not sure whether there is a direct way from Poly to the CCC free of hostile snakes or cars.

There isn't a walkway between either the Poly or the TTC to the Car Care Center. Call in advance and arrange for them to pick you up and drop you off via the free shuttle.

We've rented twice now from the Dolphin...it was easy to walk there from either HS, Epcot or from one one of the hotels right there. Found it very convenient to work picking up our car into our park plans for the day. We went when it was convenient (during open hours) and didn't have to worry about setting up a time for a shuttle.
