Our family is heading to Disney this September. Dh and I are actually going down first, along with our 4y ds. Our 18yo dd and 17yo ds are joining us later in the week.

DH, ds4 and I will be at BLT Sept 2-6. We are planning to move over to the Poly when the older two arrive, staying Sept 6-9.

Right now, I have two rooms booked. The first, using free dining, I have assigned to Dh, dd18 and ds17. The second room, using RO discount, I have assigned to ds4 and myself.

I upgraded the free dining to deluxe on Room One. We don't need tickets, so I am not planning on getting a DP for Room Two. We will be eating all of our meals together. How difficult is this going to make it? Three of us at the table on the dining plan, two others not on it.

We actually need park tickets for all three kids - Dh and I have APs. So I am planning on picking up the tickets from Room One on Sept 3rd at Guest relations. It will be three adult tickets. Will it be a problem if my ds4 uses an adult ticket? We could just put the ticket away for another trip - but I would rather just use it for this one. We really don't plan on going back for another couple of years.

Am I missing something that would throw a wrench in these plans? At least to me, the numbers make sense. Room One is $2800 and Room Two is $1100 for a total of $3900. If I used RO discount on both rooms, it would be $2200, but then I would need to spend $900 on tickets. By spending the extra $800 now, I get three adults on the DDP. We are planning a dinner show and a couple of signatures, so I am not concerned about using all the credits.

I doubt your DS will be able to use an Adult Ticket. Children that age have child written on their ticket and don't have to do the fingerprint thing.

As the pp said, I'm not sure if your DS4 would be able to use the adult ticket as your DH's KTTW card will have his name on it. Maybe you can put yourself and your DH in room 2 and put DD18, DS17, and DS4 in room 1 with DlxDDP and park tickets (since all of them need tickets). Not sure how that would compare with having 2 adults/1 child on DlxDDP and paying OOP for 2 adults vs 3 adults on DlxDDP/1 adult & 1 child OOP. As far as dining with a mixture of DDP/OOP, just let the server know which meals will be paid for with the DDP and which ones will be OOP.

If we pick up the tickets for our package early, will they still be attached to our KTTW cards? I thought (totally could be wrong) that we would be given a paper ticket.

Is it possible for my 18yo dd to be the "adult" in the room? She doesn't have a CC in her name. I thought that dh or I would need to be on the room reservation.

We did early ticket pick up in December 2010 when we had 2 nights room only prior to starting a package. We asked if the park tickets could be added to our KTTW cards when we checked in for our package and were told no. I was fine with it since I knew it might not be possible from reading about it here on the boards. However, once we checked in for our package, our "early" park tickets were deactivated, with our tickets included on our new KTTW cards. We had no idea this happened until we went to DHS and were denied admission due to our tickets being "upgraded". One trip to guest services and we realized what had happened, but needless to say, we were very surprised when we couldn't enter the park. I'm still not exactly sure how that happened, but if it was a glitch, hopefully it has been corrected. With that said, I'm not sure what would happen if there was a glitch and your 4 yo had an adult ticket.

Any guest who is 18 or older can be lead guest on a reservation, so one of the rooms can be put in your 18 yo's name :).

Here is what I would do:

NEVER MIND, I just re-read that your DS is coming down with you early. Then, it's easy.
1. Buy DS4 ticket at the gate.

2. Purchase the minimum number of ticket days (2-days) for everyone on Room 1 for the FD package.

3. First day, upgrade DD18 and DS17 at Guest Relations to the actual number of days that you need.

4. Do not use DH's KTTW card to enter any parks. Save his KTTW card for another trip. Have him use his AP to enter parks. Just to avoid any glitches, I would not use his KTTW card to pay for meals, use dining credits, etc. Just leave it safely in the wallet.
