Will this work?

Hi - I'm new to this site - been 3 years since I went to DLP and just booked through expedia to stay on site in the NYH for 3 nights.

On expedia it states "park tickets included" so I'm assuming I'll get the tickets when I check in - and they are valid for the whole duration (i.e 4 days including check in and checkout day).

I am driving down through the chunnel and was gonan travel the first day - get there about 6pmish (did that 3 years ago quite easily) then have day 2 and 3 in the parks, and a leisurely drive back on the final day (maybe go in the park for an hour before setting off).

My thinking now is to book an additional night in one of the offsite hotels for the night before. I'm booked in the NYH from Tue to Fri - so need to book a night on the Monday. Would I be right in thinking I could then go to the NYH on the Tuesday morning and get my park passes? - not get into the room obviously as check in is at 3pm.

Would this work?

Booked dates for the wc 12th Feb - my son is 6 (nearly 7) and partners son is 9 ( nearly 10). How busy do you reckon it will be then? - It's half term here at that time, although not in every LEA - and most other countries it's not half term during that week.

Hi Sav and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

Yes you'll be able to leave your luggage at Disney hotel even if room is not ready and get your park passes. A great way to make the most of your tickets :)
Given that it is kids go free promotion I don't think the parks will be to busy.

Hello Sav and welcome to the DIS :wave2:

Sounds like a good plan to me! :thumbsup2

I rang expedia and they confirmed my reservation and the tickets over the phone - but suggested I check with the hotel on the early availability of the park tickets.

I rang the hotel and the lovely lady on the other end also confirmed my reservation and said that we can pick our park tickets up at anytime that first morning and then check in properly later that day when the room was ready.

So I went and booked into a nearby Best Western which cost £51 for four including breakfast. So I basically get a full extra day's holiday including park time (and breakfast) for £51......

Well done Sav

We stopped at the HNY in December - it was great.

If you're going midweek I would imagine it would be quiet as you'll only have the British school holidays to contend with. If its a weekend you will still have the general european visitors but even then I don't think it will be "packed"

Just remember to get wrapped up!

Janet

What a bargain!! :yay: We have used Expedia twice for our DLRP visits and have not experienced any problems either time.

Sorry to be cheeky, but which hotel offered the room/breakfast for £51 ? And do you have a site url ?

Thanks (need to do the trip as cheap as possible this year Im afraid)...

If it's any help there are some budget hotel links on the Hotel FAQ sticky at the top of the page. :)

It was through Expedia,

Basically, we are driving down from the UK via the chunnel on the Monday. Staying at the Best Western on the Monday night £51 for a quad room including breakfast...

Tuesday we drive the 6km to Disney New York Hotel and get our tickets for the park (leaving the car and luggage at New York Hotel). Later that day we'll go check in at the Hotel New York - where we have reservations for 3 nights (Tue, Wed, Thu). And this includes hopper tickets for the tue, wed, tu and fri.

We'll be heading back earlyish (late breakfast permitting) on the Friday to catch a 6pm chunnel crossing. Not gonna really attempt to go to the parks on the Friday unless we get up real early.

Cost of the stay in the Hotel New York for 3 nights for 4 people (including park tickets) is £565. Which - although expensive does include park tickets for the duration for 4 people. The fact I could get a £51 hotel close to the resort for the night before makes it even better value.

All booked through Expedia (other than the chunnel crossing which I booked direct - costing £106 for the car and 4 passengers).

Hope that gives you all the info you need. It is in the february school half term - which is basically the cheapest time to go (when you have to go in school holiday time)
