I have 2 kids, DS(11) adult on the plan, and DD(9) child on the plan. Two of our ADRs are for Teppen Edo and Coral Reef. Both are only interested in ordering childs menu at Teppan Edo and Adult menu at Coral Reef. Will this be possible? I really don't feel like I would be cheating the system. I think the price comparisons are similar. They both love hibachi style dining, the just usually only eat the rice, I think they are in it for the show....

Your nine year old will receive child credits, and your 11 year old adult credits. The 9 year old will not be able to order from the adult menu at Coral Reef. Children's credits can be used only for selections from the children's menu.

You can ask if your 11 year old will be able to use an adult credit to order a child's meal at Teppan Edo. Because the children's meal generally costs much less, this may be permitted.

CMs have been warned against allowing a party to order anything different that what is listed on their room keys. Your DDP will be encoded into your room key as three adults and one child. Unlike last year, for 2008 you will not be able to order any more than three adult meals at a time or more than one child's meal at a time. Any CM that allows you to do so, will risk termination. If you do a search, you will find multiple threads where this has been discussed and quite a few dining CMs have chimed in to verify this.

Because a child's meal is cheaper than an adult meal, the CM would probably allow your older child to order a child's meal at Coral Reef, but you will be charged an adult credit for it. There have been some posts where an older child could order a child's meal, but then the chef would make an adult sized portion of it for him.

Since your youngest child is 9 y/o, what you may want to do is list him on the ressie as a 10y/o, so that he will have adult credits and both kids can order what they want at each restaurant. Your 9 y/o is probably going to get tired of those kids menus real quick anyway. The only thing is, that then you would have to buy the 9 y/o at least a one day adult MYW park ticket. In fact all of you would have to buy a one day park ticket, then you could upgrade everyone else's ticket to whatever they need once you check in, buy your 9 y/o a kid's park ticket, then save his one day MYW ticket for a later trip after he turns 10 y/o.
