Will this work as an Animal Kingdom plan?

Hello experts! We were only able to get a FOP FP for 1:55. Since this is the first year we will not be using a stroller, I want to cut down on as much criss-crossing the park as we can (we will be here on Wed Sept 5th). Rather than do RD Pandora, I was thinking that THIS year we RD Dinoland then head to Everest (FP), Kali, Safari (FP), Lion King, and our Tusker House Lunch at 12:10. Maybe a trail in there somewhere? THEN go to our FP FOP and try to do Navi after that. Do you think the line for Navi would be okay or could we possibly get a 4th FP? Thanks for the help!

We did exactly that on our trip a week ago. You don’t really need to RD Dinoland, as it will be empty and everyone will head to FOP. No need to hang with the huge crowds at RD. Then we circled around to Pandora at about 2 pm. We did find 4th FP for Navi at 4 pm, but that wasn’t easy to get. Lines were consistently above 60 mins for NRJ. You are there however on a lower crowd day, so might be better for you.

if you are there before park opening and don’t mind standing with the crowd, you can head to NRJ at RD which will be a walk on, and then head to dinoland after.

Not to highjack the thread but when I have been planning my Animal Kingdom Day I was very disappointed to see that the wildlife train does not run to Rafiki's Planet Watch until 10:00. The morning we go there is EMH so I thought this would be a good thing to do in the morning since it takes awhile etc but no such luck ☹️

I thought about RD Na’vi, but we are trying to eliminate crisscrossing. That’s a bummer bout the wait at around 2. Oh well! I think we will give it a try! I will report back to see how it went.

I am not a park crisscrossing person, but RDing Navi then heading to Dinoland is worth it. Navi was so easy to walk on without waiting in the crazy FOP RD crowd - just walked on right before park opening. It is difficult to get as a 4th FP and not worth much wait.

I avoid crossing the parks at all costs usually but I will say at least AK makes it worthwhile because you can go through Discovery Island and see some animals, see the carvings in the tree of life, and have some shade while you do it. I would RD Na’vi River and then go to Dinoland. It’s not likely you’d get it as a 4th FP.

How old is your strollerless kid? My 6 yo did fine even with crisscrossing.
He just turned 7. I am nervous without a stroller-mostly worried that he won’t last the night and fall asleep on the bus. He is too big to carry!!

I'd agree with this. Given how those two lands line up, it's not too bad as a one-time "criss cross" for your day there. I wouldn't personally count on a 4th FP for Navi, and during our trip a couple of weeks ago, there were times when Navi had a longer wait than FoP (inexplicably!).

My 7 year old fell asleep on the bus, woke up when we got to the hotel and walked to our room.

We took a break everyday. Not just for the 6yo, but for all of us. The heat and humidity are no joke, plus we got to almost every park before rope drop. Some days she napped, but not everyday. We made her rest in bed though. She only fell asleep on the bus once, but she's small enough to carry. The night we closed down MK she was no where close to falling asleep - giggling, smiling, happy as can be.

Most parks we went back to for dinner and a later night, but AK we didn't. There was a storm, we weren't that interested in ROL, and we had done everything we wanted to. We ate at our hotel and then my older DD and I went back, DH and younger DD had an early bed time.

i would agree with doing Navi at RD, then head over to Dinoland, then Everest.
I have not seen the line for Navi drop to under 60 minutes until close to close. That is a long time for 7 yo to wait and there is not much to see in line, (unike the FoP)line.

Wonder if another option would be to wait until close to ride Navi? Or would it still be a long line?

I have thought of doing this on our upcoming trip.

Planning it that down to the minute takes the fun out of being there. Just make your selections and remember you can enter FP queue up to 5 mins early and 15 min late.

I have the same plan next week as my big kids love the dino USA rides (which we never fp) and my youngest is really into the play are (honestly all 3 of them love that place). I want them to have time to dig and play and ride. We are doing pandora last and dinner at tiffins omitting rol (bC meh). If lines are too long; then we can try again after dinner during rol.

FWIW, my 7 year old can do 3+ miles of hiking and still go (she has special needs and is a bean pole).
