Will this work? (And can I even do it?)

We have off site reservations booked for early april. We have reservations for Cinderellas Table. I have already paid on a credit card for the meal. After we got back from our trip in Dec I started looking into the dining plan and realized that the cost of 1 night at the campsites and the deluxe dining plan was equal to what we paid for Cinderellas Royal Table! Can I do that?- Book one night at the campsites (even if we aren't staying there) buy the deluxe plan for us (2 adults and 3 children) get 15 meals and 10 snacks and use them for 2 of the 3 days we are there (with most of the meals paying for CRT but then not paying for snacks). Also I have a baby who will be 9 months old when we travel- could I pay the $30 to add her to the plan and get 3 more meals (she will be eating some but obviously not a whole meal)

I don't want to break any rules, but this seems a better option that just dropping $350 for 1 meal. Oh we have annual passes so I understand I can add meal plan to a reservation without paying for tickets.

Thanks!

I am not up on throw away room rules, the resort forum probably has a thread about that.

My understanding is that your dining plan credits expire on the last day of your reservation and that you get one day of dining credits for each night of stay. So you could book one day at the campsites and get one day of dining that you would need to use within one day. That still might save you some money on the Cinderella meal but I haven't done the math.

The dining plan goes by nights that you're staying on site. So you will get 15 meals and 10 snacks but you'll only get two days (check in day/check out day) to use them as they will expire at midnight the day of check out. And yes, you can book a room only reservation with dining without having to buy tickets.

No, they have one day of credits, but two days to use them. Check in day and check out day

Are all children under the age of 10? Children 10 and over pay the adult dining plan price. Children 2 and under can't get the dining plan at all.

Price for deluxe plan for 2 adults and 3 children ages 3-9 comes to $319, then add the cost of the campsite. Depends on what you do with the extra table service meal you would have, you could come out ahead. Plus, you would get 60 days in advance FP+ for those 2 days.

you also need to factor in that those 2 days you get free parking ($20/day or $40 total for 1 night). and your eligible for extra magic hours if that makes any difference on those days as well.

It sounds like you already know this, but just to clarify, you'd be able to use those credits on your "arrival" day and up until midnight of your "departure" day (so basically 2 days). I don't know why you couldn't do this. I suppose you may have to deal with the hassle of "checking-in" if you don't get the bypass -we haven gotten it the last few trips, so I'd say there's a good chance you wouldn't have to physically check-in. As far as the 9 month old, you'd have to say she was 3, but then that should work as well. I have no idea about annual passes and their rules to purchasing the dining plan etc. and I don't know for sure that you can also purchase the dining plan with the campsite, but as long as those 2 things are correct, then I don't see why you couldn't do this.

We already have tickets tied to our MDE account so when I try to book campsite it tells me I can't add dining plan with out purchasing tickets???

To add a Disney dining plan—offering the flexibility and convenience to enjoy prepaid meals and snacks throughout Walt Disney World Resort—you must have a Magic Your Way Package (room and theme park tickets).

You have to call to do it. You can't do it online.

We had the dining plan in June and we only had a room reservation. I bought tickets from Parksavers, not Disney.

Yes, you have to call and have them remove tickets, to make it a ticketless reservation, then you can add the dining plan. Then you will have to relink your tickets later to be ready for FP.

Unless something has changed. There is a 2 night minimum for dining plan if you are not staying DVC.

No need to remove the tickets. You just ask for a ticketless package when calling to make your resort/campsite reservation.

I thought so, too, however when I try to book 1 night at a campsite online it allows me to add dining as long as I select park tickets. Maybe there is a minimum stay for a ticketless package, though? You can't book it that way online, you'd have to call.

I don't believe there is a minimum stay for a ticketless package and yes adding the dining plan must be done by calling.
