Can we check into WDW resort online; check our luggage at home airport with magic express tags; get off plane at orlando; take taxi to universal for the day then taxi back to WDW and go to our room and have luggage there?

we dont have to get on the magic express bus for our luggage to go to the resort room do we?

No. Nothing ever says you have to travel on DME in order for your luggage to get there. The tags on your luggage will get your luggage to where it has to go even though you want to go elsewhere.

So, yes this will work and I have heard of other people doing this too.

Well, that is the way things have worked.

But officially the ride to the resort isn’t supposed to be just a luggage delivery service. Officially they *could* check to make sure you rode the bus.

Going to the airport, when it’s RAC you’re using for luggage, that has no requirement that you’re on the bus. But going by strict rules, you’re not supposed to do it on arrival.

There’s a whole sticky thread in the transportation forum about it. Do it. Just know that it could change.
