Will this ruin our plans?

For another wonderful vacation, we planned to along my son's friend. We booked out dining reservations (for 6)at the 180 day mark to get the reservations that we wanted and the times we wanted. All was planned and prepared.
My son's friend, now, has decided to bring along his new girlfriend. He has asked me to change the dining plans and either combine or separate the reservations to include her.
In an effort to not compromise my plans (because I am an obsessive planner and I guess a little selfish), I decided the path of least resistance is to remove him from my dining reservations and make new reservations for him and his girlfriend.

I do not see an easy way to modify the reservations, so I thought I would ask:
Will I be able to remove him from our party of 6 without cancelling my current reservations?

I will be calling WDW tonight unless I find out I can do this on my own, but wanted to reach out to the experts (disboards) :thumbsup2

No, you won't be able to remove him without cancelling and rebooking each reservation. But, you don't really need to remove him. Unless it's a prepaid meal, there's no penalty for showing up with fewer people than you have listed on your reservation.

Thank you very much for the response. The meals are not prepaid, but it is with the dining plan. If he doesn't show up with us, will he lose his dining credits?

This happened to us, & we just showed up with the extra person, & it was never a problem, no matter which restaurant we went to.

Do you mind me asking how many were in your original party? I am thinking a party of 5 bumped up to a party of 6 would be easy, but going 6 to 7 may need a larger table.
