Will this first day schedule work...and if so...what's the best way?

On Saturday March 12, our plane lands at MCO at 4:26pm (we hope). We’ll be taking MDE to POR (no plans to rent a car at this time). I would presume to arrive at POR between 5:30 - 6pm. After getting settled in our room we plan to take the boat to Disney Springs for dinner. What we would ultimately like to do to end the evening is to go to Poly to sample Dole Whip and watch Wishes from the beach.

Three Questions:

1. What might be the preferred way to travel to Poly from Disney Springs? We are open to most anything adventurous, though waiting in endless lines might not be so adventurous. The trip includes myself, DW, DS (18) and DS (17).

2. What would be the time we would need to leave Disney Springs to make it to Poly in time for the fireworks?

3. What would be the preferred way to get back to POR after the fireworks? Bus? Taxi? Could the monorail be taken to EPCOT and then take a bus/taxi to POR without using a park ticket and if so would that make sense?

If you use Disney transportation, just take the bus from DS to the Poly. I'd be out at the bus stop around 8 pm. It often takes at least an hour to wait and make your way to just about anywhere from DS. That gives you at least an hour to get your dole whip and find your spot on the beach.

Afterwards, I'd take the monorail over to MK and grab a bus to POR. If you try to go to EP, by the time you get there, the buses may not be running.

Your other choices would be to taxi to/from any point. If you taxi from DS, you wouldn't have to leave as early.
