Will they seat us with an extra person?

If I say, "No, they'll make you go out into the park and find an additional person to fill that seat", will you know I'm joking?

Hey, making fun isn't allowed!! ;) Just kidding, I know how it sounds. I knew I should have included the background to why I was asking that question so here it goes:
So when I called WDW Dine to make reservations (for the quatrillionth time) and tried once again to get a Chef Mickey's reservation for 2. She said nope, no reservations for two but I do see one for three." I said, "Oh for three? Well we're only two." And the she mentioned if maybe we were meeting anybody at Disney??? I'm thinking this is her way of hinting to me to me to make it for three but no big deal if there's only 2.
So of course I want to go to Chef Mickey's so I say, "Oh yeah, yeah, we are meeting someone so three is great!"
So that's why I asked the somewhat niave question. At that point I wasn't sure if maybe that kind of stuff happens a lot and maybe they refuse your ADR.
Okay, now that that's settled, I explained the situation and I feel good. :hippie:
I hope everyone has a fantastic, Disney kind of a Day! (call me a dork but it's easy to do that when you have a little more than a month to go before WDW!)

I don't know how that will work, when we went to CP in June, they would not seat us without the whole party being there. I thought that was kinda stupid, only thing was that mom had to go to the little girls room, but that is what happened, now I don't know what would happen if you showed up and said the rest of the party is not coming. Anywhere there is food involved, my whole party is close by :rotfl:

I told em and and I warned em! Twice. They have a studio.

I am not playing, "Lets find my car!" Im going to TL!

Since she is only going to be with us for one day, it will only effect
our CM adr.

If they will not seat us as a party of 7 the in-laws are going to find somewhere else to eat with her.

My family isnt going to miss CM because this is where we will get all
our pictures with the characters. (and Donalds at Ak) I do not want to stand in a long line in the park when we can be on a ride or seeing a show. We explained this as nicely as we could to my in-laws. They are ok with it.
I really wanted pics of all of us with the character tho :( I told them that was our plan. We will be really disappointed if we cant get seated as a party of 7. But we'll understand.

We received an e-mail offering us a free upgrade to SSR.
We are not dvc members YET.
They plan to add her to there ressie when they get there.
Im thinking it will be free but if its not FIL will gladly pay.

Dont get me wrong, we are excited shes coming. Just wish things were planned earlier.

Some people just do not understand how Disney works!

Im glad I have the Disboards!
We will be at the Dismeet Sept 2 at MK!! OMG its so close!!
party: party: party:

Not only did we get seated with an extra person they let her use our dining credits and she didnt have to pay!!

This was at CM and Spoodles.

It all worked out with no problems at all :)

The extra adult rule may not apply in the DVC studios the way it does in a regular room. It certainly didn't in the 1-BR. We just did this with my friend, who was the 3rd adult in the room. Her only obligation was to buy a 1-day ticket to be on free dining. And they gave us 2 car passes.

Really? She bought a 1 day pass and a water park pass and they never mentioned the free dining. We had enough credits. It was so hot we
werent hungry.

My in-laws didnt fully understand the dining plan. I found out on there second to last day they were paying for lunch! I e-mailed the website and they were given papers on it when they checked in at SSR.

While we were waiting for ME we check to see how many snack credits we had. We had 6 left. Snacks for the way home!

We were upgraded to a 2 bdrm!
Papa and Grandma got upgraded to a 1 bdrm!

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. Because Dh, ds and I all have AP's, we only bought 1-day tix to get the free DDP package. Therefore, when we added my GF to the room, she only had to buy the 1-day. But now I see that in your situation, none of this really applies since your extra person is only there for one day.

If we had been in, say, POR, she would also have had to pay $25/night as the third adult. Because we were in OKW, the rules are different.

I think a major error on WDW's part is not sending out any info on the DDP when they send your papers. I wasn't even offered a brochure at checkin. Good thing I have the DIS so I knew EXACTLY what all my options were, pretty much by heart :)

At any rate, I wouldn't sweat it too much. We just returned and almost always, the restaurants were pretty flexible. Our first night at Chefs de France I had a res for 3 and wound up with 5 and they seated us no problem. Another day when it was 101 degrees out we couldn't drag ourselves out of the pool and called to ask the Cali Grille if we could come late. They told us whenever we showed up would be fine.

BTW the main switchboard number is a very good thing to have on you so you can be connected directly to the restaurant. It must be posted here somewhere, if not I will try to dig it up. It's time for bed and I can't think of where I jotted it down....
