Will they rename the Paradise Pier Hotel?

Now that Paradise Pier is being rethemed to Pixar Pier, what do you think will happen to the PPH?

Nothing. They've got enough on their plate building a brand new hotel (and a rumored DVC wing after main construction is complete). No rumors right now on PPH changing to my knowledge.

Nothing, at least not within the next 5 years. They’ve announced so much & spent so much over these next few years (The Grand Californian just got a big remodel, Downtown Disney’s updates, new parking structure, Star Wars land, a giant new onsite hotel being built etc) that I’d be really surprised to find that there is budget or the willingness for more closures & construction. Paradise Pier Hotel would need to spend a lot of money to retheme to get a new name so it will likely just be a pier themed hotel with no direct tie in to the parks other than just all the Disney touches that are already there. Most hotels at Disneyland and Disney World are not themed to specifically replicate areas within the parks, so I doubt anyone will think anything of it in a year or two when the hotel is still the same.

Actually a Pixar-themed hotel would be pretty awesome, and a first. Would be a good asset for DLR.

I would love to see them re-brand it as Pixar if they turned a large chunk of the rooms into family suites (like the All-Star Music resort did at WDW) and added a splash pad to re-themed pool area. It's the only hotel that hasn't gotten a makeover recently, so I hope they'd consider it after the current construction ends.

I had an invitation put under my door at DLH day before yesterday inviting me to attend a DVC tour with the promise of a $100 gift card. I went yesterday and during the presentation, the DVC person said something about the fact that they would soon be redoing PPH. I didn't press her on that and have no idea whether or not it's true, but it's interesting.

That is very interesting! Hmmmm... I wonder if we will get more details soon. As an aside, I wish I would have gotten that invitation when I stayed at the DLH!
