After our Spa experience we were on the monorail to Chef Mickeys. We arrived a little after 10 am and were seated right away. There was a line to check in but it moved very fast. It was not noisy at all.
We were seated to the back left of the room, right up against the windows in a little corner. It was nice and quiet and perfect for us, cuz we were still vegging out from our massages.
The buffet is the same from both sides and we went to the first side and there was a bit of a line. Our server was very nice, we had coffee, it wasnt that bad this time, and orange juice that was nice and cold. She was very attentive and brought out more juice and left a pot of coffee for us. She also cleared the tables promptly which was good seeing how we were in a small table and didnt have much room.
DH started with oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins, it looked watery in the pan but once he stirred it, it thickened right up. You can see in the other plate and everything bagel with cream cheese (it was nice and chewy) and a croissant with butter for me (it was wonderful!)
I started with fruit, grapes, cantelope, honeydew and watermelon. The fruit was AWEOME! So sweet and fresh and not mushy at all...just perfect! We ate alot of fruit here.
This is my plate. At the top is the bacon cheese hash browns...these were terrible...tasted like liquid smoke and the two bites I ate stayed with me all day if you catch my drift, DH didnt like it at all...he said it was a terrible flavor to eat first thing in the morning. Under that is the breakfast pizza, a Boboli style shell with scrambled eggs, mozzarella cheese and bacon...this was fantastic! Both DH and I loved this and ate 2 slices each! Under that is the tater tots, we both loved these. Next is a very different type of corn beef hash, your standard hash but baked into a corn bread, I loved it, nice and sweet and salty at the same time, DH didnt like it. Below that are the scrambled eggs, very good. Next is the breakfast lasagne that had a Mexican flavor to it, it was just ok and 2 bites was enough. Next to that is the biscuits and gravy, the CM just put out a fresh batch so the biscuits were nice and fluffy and the creamy gravy was perfect! To the left are the sausage links, nice and tender and good but I like mine a bit more well done, which I got later.
Here is DH's plate. He has a cinnamon roll (what else huh?) and french toast which he loves both, super crispy bacon, the yuck bacon cheese hash browns, eggs, and biscuits and gravy. The boy ate many other plates but I didnt take pics because I took pics of the entire buffet!
We also had the Krispy Kreme donuts, they were good going down but man did they repeat on me! The rice krispie treats were stale and had zero flavor. The chocolate croissant was awesome and the apple turnover had no filling in it.
We really enjoyed Chef Mickeys, we liked the food alot, the atmosphere was fun and it wasnt noisy at all....in fact there were more empty tables than seated ones!
After breakfast DH and I wandered around the CR a bit and he decided this was where he wanted to stay in June but only if we can get the main tower. The quiet pool is right on the water, he wants to eat at the Contempo Cafe for breakfast, CM again on our departure day and I want to try the Cali Grill. When I called the bounceback line there was a ton of different resorts and room types for the week of May 31st. We booked a MK view in the CR tower and I requested the highest floor with a king bed...hope we get it and maybe we will like the CR since we are in the main building...the gardens were just eh.
I did take a ton of pictures of the buffet so I will post those next!
