Will there ever be a "worldwide" annual pass?

I have the Premier Passport AP... the one that works in WDW and DL. But what would be awesome is a version of the AP that works EVERYWHERE. Tokyo Disney, Hong Kong, Disneyland Paris, the new Shanghai park, etc. I'd also love it if the AP meant something to the Disney cruise ships or Aulani. Right now my PP AP is pretty much worthless at those places. I know it would be very limited in how many people would actually buy it and use it, but I would love to have something like that.

Anyone ever heard of rumblings regarding this?

I don't think so.

When the DPP came out, Disney created a list of people who had any level of AP at both WDW and DLR, where each expired March 15 or late. They sent each of these people a DPP with a expiration of the later of the two dates. I saw a copy of the list and it only had about 700 names on it.

The ticketing systems at both DLR and WDW are different, and it took a lot of contortions to come up with a ticket that would work at both locations. Which is why there are only very specific locations where they can be purchased; they use machines that are not used for any other tickets.

I have been to DLP and their ticketing system is different than either of the US systems.

I have not been to TDL, but it and TDS are owned by the Oriental Land Company, with TWDC only holding a 5% ownership stake. I have seen tickets from them and they appear they would be completely incompatible with either US or France.

So there would probably be fewer than 500 people who would buy them, and the cost would be well over $2,000 as the current DDP is $850, a current Tokyo Two Park AP is also $850, I could not find an AP for Paris, but a five day, two park ticket is about $300. So that is the $2,000 with only five days at DLP (not an AP) and I don't have pricing for HK.

1) What Cheshire Figment said.
2) How many people would really use the tickets?
3) We have been to WDW, DLP, DLR, and TDL.
4) But, not often enough to use annual passes for all.
5) And, we used to go
. . . to Paris once-per-quarter
. . . to Tokyo twice per year

I wish! In the past year we have been to DLR, WDW, DLP and HKDL.

It would have been amazing to use our Premiere Passports in Hong Kong and Paris. Though both the HKDL and DLP ticket prices were far less than WDW and DLR. You could get an annual pass in HKDL for $80USD, which is less than a day at WDW.

Aulani gives room discount to AP holders. We went in Jan 2013 and got 40% off our room rate.
