Will there be no free dining for 2013?

Hi everyone! I know they usually put out free dining but I've read that 2013 will not have free dining? I hope this isn't true

Early rumors were there might not be free dining in 2013. Disney has threatened this before but free dining came back. I heard there still will be free dining in 2013 most probably.

What sucks is that there is just no way of knowing right now. The fact that the current PINs only have FD thru March but RO thru Sept might be telling, but who knows. Late Aug has always been FD in the past few years, and that is when I am looking to go, but with all the ambiguity, I won't book until the offers come out(if I can hang on that long...be strong..). I will likely go either way, but it does make a difference in what I will book -- if no FD at values and QS at mods, as rumored, then it will really only be a difference of less than $200 to upgrade to mod from Pop. I wouldn't cry lol. If free QSDP is offered at values, I'll do that. And if no FD at all, well then...hope DD likes Ramen lol

I mean of course it is better then nothing- but we would be upgrading for sure- although it means nothing to us as we are going the end of April and there is no chance we will get any kind of free dining.

DVC points reservations are not eligible for free dining because the room is not full price. If you rent points and pay for the dining plan, you could still be ahead.

The bounceback from last summer included free dining at the deluxes, (regular not QS) so it is possible that the public offer will be the same. I am hoping for a discount of any kind for early August.

I am worried also about the rumor that FD might only be QS at Mods and Deluxe Resorts. I'm sure if this does come to pass Disney will be counting on most guests upgradeing to the regular DP, so a win win for them. They will fill the resorts @ rack rate and profit from guests upgradeing the DP

Deep discounts like free dining play a huge part in why WDW is thriving in this terrible economy. Disney isn't going to shoot themselves in the foot. They have been offering FD discounts since 2005, so going on 9 years. The fall free ding offers we're first created to fill the parks during the previously dead hurricane season. August and September is still the height of hurricane season. Do you think if they stop offering huge promotions like free dining during this time frame that the crowd levels would remain as high as they have the last few years? No way. They may cut down on some of the various weeks they offer free dining but they aren't getting rid of it just yet. Those marketing geniuses know what they are doing and anytime they need to fill resorts or the parks they will roll out an FD offer.

The advertised bounce back offer was FD for the Moderates and Deluxe resorts but if you asked when you called the bounce back extension, free QS dining was available at the value resorts! I booked this for this August when I was there last August and a friend booked it for this August when she was there last November.

Bottom line, when an offer is advertised, it always pays to ask if there are any other options to this offer. I called anticipating having to book at a moderate but quickly found out by asking that values were included too, just not advertised on the offer!

I was at POP last Auguest,and I saw that bounce back off while I was there.. I wish I had did it then!! dang it!

Now I have to wait and see if it comes out..

The bounce back offer we received when we were just there in December was for free dining at all resort levels. And free dining in the January/February time frame has only been offered a few times, not like the long standing fall free dining offers for the last 9 years.
