Will there be more contract extensions?

I do not know the particulars about the OKW contract extensions but was wondering what the chances are that some of the other Resorts expiring in 2042 might get a extension opportunity?

My guess (nothing more) is that most of them will get extension offers.

But nobody outside of DVC knows.

Why do you figure this?

My guess is that they will extend the contracts at places like BWV and BCV like they did OKW.

it's a little more complicated than at OKW.

DVC also has to get the hotels division to agree that a 50+ year old BC/BWI/WL is still worth the money rather than tearing them down to build more modern/current hotels. if the hotels division decides they need new facilities, there's no way the DVCs continue as-is...which would likely mean starting over.

alternatively, demand for suites connected to BWI or WL is more sustainable than trying to sell rooms at OKW, which is more isolated. so the hotels might even decide to keep the DVC wings to rent themselves.

all this is just my opinion, though. but it is true that OKW is a completely different situation than the others. (if VB and HHI are judged successful by DVC management standards, i could see them being extended.)

Disney has vowed NEVER to extend VBR.

its nice to think about, and i dont wanna rain on anyone's parade, but in 45-50 years, there is no telling if wdw or the rest of the parks will still be open. i mean, they havent even been open nearly that long, and to worry about what it will be like when they are nearly tripled in age is kinda pointless. i mean, think about how far weve come in the last 50 years or so. man on the moon for an example. who knows if WE will even be here in 50 years. its entirely plausible we could be zooming around the solar system. point is, dont worry about it now, have the time of your life while you can, and let things fall where they may. i know we treat each trip to wdw like its our last, cause you never know when it will be.

I have mixed thoughts. It's hard to think they would have extended OKW and won't at least the other on site options but I think it depends on the response they got which seems to be less than stellar from what I've heard.

Does anyone know the "official" reason why OKW was extended? Did Disney ever say? If we understood that it would be easier to guess the likelyhood of other extensions.
