Will there be a new incentive?

I believe the incentive on Aulani ran out yesterday, wondering if anyone has thoughts about whether another incentive will be offered and if it will apply to Poly or Aulani or both?

Unknown, it's all about making sales. If DVC sales are below projections, they will offer something, if sales are on target, they won't.

If they put something out for Poly I would probably buy tomorrow. Right now I am on the fence buying direct just based on money outlay for points on a Studio only resort and the lack of options outside of Poly for a similar point outlay.

Looks like they put another offer up, just for Aulani from what I read. Offering an extra year of points and I'm uncertain if this is the banked points you should be getting anyway or actual additional points.

They usually don't put the "should get anyway" points in writing so they are probably developer points.

Just got an email that direct prices are increasing to $168 pp come nov. you have to contact them for the incentive.

I dunno the tiny size of that price increment tells me Poly isn't doing what they want it to.

Maybe but I'm not convinced they will.

Seems odd that they would charge more if they aren't at least a a bit happy with sales.

One potential reason for a smaller price increase is the global economy hitting a questionable patch for the past two quarters. We haven't seen this much concern for the US economy since he fall of 2011. Will Santa or the Grinch show up for Christmas?

Current management seems much less inclined

My e-mail said December 3 for the price increase.

wonder why they are giving different dates. Mine said Nov 3. There was a link in the email the incentive is "enjoy an extra resort stay with this special offer" enjoy a free stay at one of 2 disney vacation club resorts when you purchase 150 or more points at aulani. the resorts are aulani or ssr and the offer ends 3-30-16.

they didn't mention anything about the poly other than the prices for both poly and aulani are going to be $168 come nov 3

It seems we received a different promotional offer.

Ours says
Now's a great time to add on to your Membership before the price-per Vacation Point for a real estate interest increases from $165 to $168 at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olinia, Hawai'i, on December 3, 2015. We didn't receive anything about enjoying an free stay when purchasing 150 or more points at Aulani. Ok, I found what you are referring to. When I click on the link about additional ways to save it mentioned the extra resort stay. However, ours states 100 point add-on, not 150.

Are you currently a member or is your promotional offer for new members?
They often have different dates for pricing increases for members vs non-members. They also often require smaller purchases for members to receive a deal than they require of non-existing members.

I got the Dec 3rd email. While I'm a new member I did buy resale. Maybe that's why I didn't get the red carpet. Lol

that's actually funny. Brings down a $330,000 purchase to $320,000. Once you hit a $300,000 purchase price, $10,000 seems like a drop in the bucket.

DVCNews.com has a new article describing new incentives for Aulani and PVB.
For PVB, having to buy 2000 points to receive the discount. That number may be an indication that FW bungalow purchasers want a discount.

I think this is more an indication of concerns regarding the occupation rates of the bungalows. I wonder if DVC got its maths horribly wrong regarding the number of points/price of points required to stay and the real demand? The typical income profile of someone who has the funds to stay for a week at the bungalows is very different to that of someone staying in a studio. Not sure the mix works. Time will tell... But I guess PVB will take a very long time to sell out and that it is almost certain thIs will result in a points reallocation that will see more points required to stay in a studio and fewer to stay in a bungalow. I can see lots of unhappy PVB owners who have small point contracts. Not great for the image of DVC.

I absolutely agree! Furthermore when they can't stay at home they'll flood the market at 7 mos.

Although these fears aren't actually occurring -- bungalows have been consistently selling out for months. A lot of people stay in them for 1-2 days, not just Daddy Warbucks when he's on vacation :D They can't afford to reallocate points to studios since they are already the most expensive studios in The World (why they still aren't sold out in March and April during peak season -- inside the 7 mos. window -- if anything the studios are the bigger problem, IMO, but that should fix itself wants you have as points owners as points available -- right now there are more points to book than points owners, so it's impossible for PVB to sell out outside of 7 mos.
