Will the front gate scan my ticket...

The front gate...

will scan your ticket on your phone. We always choose to print them, but have seen others use their phone and then the CMs give the hard tickets on first use.

We used the bar codes on my phone for all 3 of our tickets. On first entry, they took our pics and gave us ticket cards (after checking my husband's military ID, since they were salute tickets), but we never used them. Always the bar code on the app. I just swiped through each one.

They scan phone, but I guess I'm old school and always have backup printed copies just in case phone freezes/app loading/battery/etc....

Technology is great until it goes down and wouldn't want to start a Disney day in panic at main gate.
I totally agree and I'm just like you. I printed out my tickets last night. I really don't like how technology is taking over our lives but that's another thread.

So you printed out, at home, tickets you purchased over a globally connected network of computer systems.

On my phone, or should I just print them out?
Having the ticket on your phone is essential, and I also do a screenshot of it in case I lose connectivity so I save time. One of the cast members suggested making the ticket my background/locked screen image if I was also going to do photopass to save time. I thought that was a good suggestion.

As others have said, yes, they’ll scan your tix from your phone at the gate. I know that late last week there were some technical issues with access the QR codes so I printed my confirmation/code, just to be on the safe side. I also snap a screenshot of the QR code so I’m triply covered.

Phone is totally fine and no reason to print out...but a pro tip...pull up your barcode and just take a screenshot so that it easy to recall vis the photo app and it it stored on your phone vs having ant app or email connectivity issues...plus you can just share that photo with others in your party if you are worried about a device crash
