Will the dining plan let you do this?

My daughter (10 years old) is still in the picky stage of eating.
We will be doing the dining plan and she will be paying the adult price.

Will they let her still order off the childrens menu?

Will they let her order just a ceaser salad (if they have it) as her entree?

Thanks,
Lisa

Not sure about the Ceaser salad, but yes they will allow you to order from the kids menu. We are in the same dilema. My daughter was 10 back in August and she ordered from the kids menu several times. Now that she is a mature 11 I'm sure in January she will still order from the kids menu.

They will certainly allow you to do it. Cost wise you might be better without the Dining Plan.

If she orders just a salad or off the kids menu, just pay OOP and save her adult credit.

If you are asking if she can order a caesar salad from the appetizers and then a dessert and just skip entree, sure, I don't see why not.

They would probably even let her order an appetizer & dessert from the adult menu and her entree from the kids (as long as it's not one of the kids combo app, entree, dessert things).

Last May my sons were on the adult plan and the CM's let them on more than one occasion order their dessert from the kids menu.

Thanks everyone.
Good thoughts. Maybe we will save her credit and pay out of pocket depending on what she orders.

Maybe we should wait to do the dining plan. ALthough, my son who is 12 will eat stuff from the adults menu. It is a tough call.

We have never done the dining plan before and we going to give it a try this time but it might not be worth it.
Thanks again

Now I am wondering if it will be worth doing the meal plan. We do like to sit down occassionaly but my kids are just as happy to have a burger/fries out by a swim at the pool.

We would at least like to go to Ohana's for dinner and Crystal Palace for breakfast and maybe one more nice dinner.
We will be there for 5 nights.

What would you do?

I have a DD & DS (both 10) and one is picky the other is not. We chose all buffets for dinner. I figure the picky one might at least be willing to try something different with all of the choices. And actually the good eater will probably want a chicken nugget or two anyway. They are kids after all.;)

IMHO - Before 2008, the DDP was definitely the only way to go. With the changes in DDP for 2008 and beyond, I'm not so sure. It was almost more of a pain than it was worth. On the other hand, we did eat at some places that we might have been less likely to eat if we were paying OOP. Tusker House comes to mind. It's a buffet, but a pretty good one by comparison and they did not monitor who was eating what off of which place in the buffet. Not cheap. Le Cellier is one of my all-time favorites but I may not shell out the bucks for that one either. Le Chefs du France also comes to mind. I'll try all the exquisite difficult-to-pronounce stuff as long as I know I've already paid for it. But, then again, I did also spend $75 OOP for 4 specialty alcoholic drinks and 2 cups of cappucino. Tough call anymore.

I'm 22 and I can still get kids meals on the DDP. It's not the best use of money, but it's do able at CS and TS.
