the only thing that is taken down on Dec 30th is the Epcot christmas tree, everything else is up in the parks until marathon weekend. Some resorts will start taking down their decor come Jan 1st
We are going Dec 31-Jan 5 and were planning on doing a resort tour of decorations Jan 3...will they be taking things down by then? Mainly going to GF to see the gingerbread and Fort Wilderness

The gingerbread house at grand Floridian usually closes January 1st and thre bring down the decorations that night. Fort wilderness decor is provided by guests so Disney has nothing to do with those, each camper takes their decor down when they want

Not sure about GF and FW, but last Jan we stayed at BC 1/2-1/11, and at both Beach and Yacht they didn't start taking down their decorations until close to the end of our stay. Really was wonderful!
Hope you have a magical time!
We arrive on 1/1 and hoping we'll catch the decorations at AKL... at least for one night! I was thinking they wouldn't take them down on New Year's Day, but I really don't know.

I’ve been at Poly the last two NYE’s and the first 2-4 days of Jan. The decorations and the lovely (read, awful) holiday music loop have still been in full swing. I would have done anything for it to stop 12/31.... no such luck.

I've done 6 or 7 Marathon weekends at this point, and most stuff usually comes down during our trip. We usually go Marathon weekend + the week after. No hard & fast rule, but each day more things will disappear. I will say that every trip the tree at AKL has been up when we have arrived, (and usually still has photopass) and sometimes (not always) gets taken down while we are there. Had a late night one year and got back to the hotel at like 11 or 12 PM to see cherry pickers dissembling the tree with plywood all over the floor to protect it.
