Will the castle be covered in Sept to remove 60th decorations?

Hi,

I was just getting excited that we might get to see Haunted Mansion Holiday because we will be in Disneyland the week of Sept 12th. We are okay with missing the 60th decorations because we saw it last summer but then I realized maybe they'll be removing it while we're there. Do you think they'll put the big scrim up while they remove everything? I know there's a rumor that Halloween will start at DL on Sept 9th but I wasn't sure if that meant the 60th decorations would be all removed by then.

BONUS QUESTIONS!
-Do they have a Mr. Potato Head fill-a-box in Downtown Disney? or just in Orlando?
-Are the Halloween parties usually just Friday, Saturday, Sunday?

Thanks DISers!

There are parties mid-week as well. If you look at the first page of the Halloween thread it will have all of last year's dates listed so you can get an idea of what to expect.

No idea about the castle being covered though. Good question! It's not typically decorated special for Halloween but I haven't heard yet if the snow and Christmas decorations are supposed to be back (I would assume they would).

Usually when they remove stuff like that they just remove a little every night so there's no need to cover it up during the process.

There's not that much to remove really, is there? Just a few of those cheap looking "diamond" accents and the big sign on the front. I doubt they'll cover it.

I haven't seen any Mr. Potato Head parts in DLR for quite some time.

As mentioned, there are usually mid-week parties, but there aren't usually parties on Saturdays or Sundays (except much closer to Halloween night). Last year, for the first part of the schedule, there were generally parties on Fridays, Mondays, and Wednesdays, but that schedule changed up closer to Halloween. Most likely, the first party will be on September 23 this year.

No more Mr. Potato Head parts. They used to have them at DCA in the toy store before the redo of the park. It didn't return when the new entrance debuted.
