and somehow with all the hullaboo of DH coming home, seeing the shirts I had worked on and then made me feel all carppy unintentionally by telling me I shouldn't have gotten the cheaper transfer paper from AC Moore, I should have bought the name brand Avery at
WalMart, that chapter got erased.
And I'm a little upset. About the chapter and the shirts.
I thought I did a good job for my first try. And DH does too, but I think I may have to go get some fancier paper or see how these turn out after a washing. It was just his delivery that was a bit lacking, and I took it the wrong way and there you go. The TK clan is not always in a state of perfect marital bliss. Alas, feelings get hurt and apologies are exchanged. Now onward to the shirts. They have to sit for 24 hours before they get washed, so we won't know until tomorrow anyway.
Here they are.
I just thought this design was so cute. DS has these athletic shorts which are pretty much all we're packing for Disney since they're the quickest for him to get on and off when he needs to use the bathroom. We've had some accidents over harder to get off shorts, so we don't wear those anymore. It's just so defeating for the poor little nugget. Anyway, he has two pairs of these type of shorts in this beautiful light blue, very similar to the color on the shirt. I'd wear my top with jean shorts, I think we'd make a very nice pair.
Anyway, these being my first try you can see a bit of yellowing as I wasn't consistently moving the iron. I did DS first, so by the time I did my tank, I was getting better at it. Now, if you get up reallly, really close, you can see parts where the edges of the transfer look ready to peel up. This is what concerns me. I hope they stay together. If not...well, I don't know. We'll just have to see how they wash.
And we have the big kahuna...
This is DS' shirt. I love this design and how DH changed it to be customized for us. It looks great, but for some reason, even though I was really consistent with the movement of the iron, and really applied some good pressure here, the right side is a bit worn looking as though the transfer didn't completely take. I'm not totally distressed over this, after all, it is a pirate shirt, but I'm a little concerned about how DH's will come out if it's on a white tee.
I'm giving up for tonight.
I want to see how this washes, and if it's not well, then I'll most likely be writing/contacting the makers of this brand of transfer and requesting a refund. As stated on the packaging, just contact us if you're not satisfied and we'll send you a full refund.
So there you go.
I was excited about these shirts, I swear.
I still am. Sort of.
ARGH.
Now I don't have shoe drama, I have shirt drama.
