I felt same way, especially when youngest DS headed off to college. Throughout that trip, and all subsequent ones, I can't tell you how many times I see something and it brings back a happy memory with my kids in the parks. I make a point to take a picture of their favorite Disney things and text it off to each of them. They text back to remind me to bring them their favorite treats back home.
Honestly, wasn't sure if I would enjoy Disney without a child in tow...we have managed to muddle thru nicely. My kids are floored I no longer commando, having discovered the joys of lounging poolside with a long, cool adult beverage. PS - F&W is perfect 1st kids' free trip imo!
That said, I'll be doing another 180 this November. I'm over-the-top excited to have an upcoming "girls only" trip in November with GD & DiL. Have been put on notice we will be greeting the Disney dawn & closing down the parks.
We are going on Sat. so we can have some time together…but I am going to be on my own on Mon-Wed while DH is in his conference - that will be weird too (to be alone). If the weather's nice I might plan a little pool time for myself. I've never been down in Nov. so not sure how cooperative the weather will be. Also undecided if I'll get our OL delivered. We're flying SW so I COULD check a bag BUT we're taking a really late flight home on Wed night after DH gets out of his conference (departs at like 9:40). I'm not digging the idea of having to then go to baggage claim at BWI at midnight when we still have an hour long trip home! Thinking I just want to fly w/ carry-ons… I am looking forward to F&W tho as Epcot is DS's least fav. park so we don't ever spend a lot of time there. We just stayed at BCV as part of our last trip and I wanted to plan so much Epcot time since it was so convenient but DS was like AGAIN? But I know I will miss him...
