Dh and I took ds to WDW in December of 2005. It was easy last time, because we already had tickets, and ds was only 2, so he was out of the equation most of the time.

Now we are starting to plan for a December 2007 trip- we want to plan early, because my parents decided that they would like to come with us. (Which dh and I totally support, because that means free babysitting!! :rotfl: )

Anyway, now I am TOTALLY confused on where to begin!!! We are AAA members, so last time we booked a room only (with AAA discount) through Dreams Unlimited, and really liked their services.

Here's my question though- since we need tickets this time, we are considering a package, but we can't do the AAA discount for a package through Dreams, right?

Also, we are looking at the dining option, but I am not sure we will end up doing that, because it seems like an awful lot of food, and I am not sure we would really benefit that much from it.

So, where would you all start? Should I book rooms now with AAA through Dreams, then cancel if we decide on a package later? Should I contact AAA to get a quote?

So many options, my head is spinning!!! :confused3 Will someone please help point me in the right direction??
Thank you!!!

First off IMO it's the best time to go.
Second I would book through AAA since you are thinking about a package ,any other TA can't do a AAA package.
With that being said now you just need to find a good AAA TA which is sometimes hard to do.
I think the dining is worth the money but that will vary with everyone on if you think you would get your monies worth or not.

First off, you are asking all of the right questions!

Package deals with a AAA discount applied must be booked through AAA. Package deals are nice, but the Dining Plan is too much for a lot of folks. Eating that much TS also takes away from park time. We did not have the dining plan when we went in December, but the money that we spent was about the same as what we would have spent if we had the dining plan. We ate at least one TS and one CS meal a day with snacks and beverages as needed/wanted along the way.

Room only deals can be booked directly through Disney with a AAA discount. We took advantage of these savings in December of last year and were pleased with our room at CSR.

Depending on your desire to visit within the next year, you might want to also consider the purchase of AP's. Maggie

I would call AAA and tell them you want to book a Basic Package (room only, no tickets) for your dates, this will at least lock you in to the resort and room type you're looking for. When Disney releases the 2007 packages, you can have your AAA agent modify the Basic Package to the MYW package. I would also keep on top of them if and when Disney has any special "deals" for your time of year, usually announced sometime in the late summer/early fall of 2007, so any other discounts or specials can be applied to your package.
