No, she's not oversensitive....I think she wants winter to be here. She was talking about snow and going ice skating. She's never seen snow or ice for that matter. It's going to be an interesting day.

My son does the same thing. He rarely wears shorts. My brothers went through the same thing when they were kids. Must be the age, my son is 13. I don't understand it. This is Florida for cryin out loud, put cooler clothes on.
In all seriousness, she will pass out if she wears that out here.
Before I moved here, I was visiting and we went to Busch Gardens. I wore jeans and a black shirt. Well low and behold, I fainted right before we got on the log flume. I had the Busch Garden paramedic's there with some PowerAid and I was very embaressed. This was in July.
Unless she wants the extra attention, I suggest she skip the pants alotgether.
I'll be happy to talk to your DD if you'll tell mine that she should probably wear more than just a sweatshirt in Michigan when it's about 10 degrees! She's a teenager and apparently coats aren't cool--but pneumonia must be the in thing.
My 8 1/2 year old son is the same way. He doesn't want to wear shorts this summer. He would rather pull a dirty pair of jeans or khakis from the laundry than wear a pair of shorts. I tell him that he will be too hot, but he doesn't seem to care.
I saw a woman at Blizzard Beach 2 days ago waiting in line to buy a ticket wearing those fleece sweatpants, a long-sleeved shirt and a jacket. EVERYONE was sweating to death, I don't know how she just did not pass out!
Ah, a girl after my own heart. I wore shorts for the first time in YEARS last year. And I bought my first pair of sandals (in my adult life anyway). But there's a difference....I live in New England. It's never warm here!
As long as she isn't doing anything totally outrageous, there are probably more important things to fight about. How are kids going to leanr if we keep making every decision for them?
