Sorry if this has been asked before, but will Saratoga 1BR officially change to sleeps 5? After refurb the room has 1 King size bed, 1 Queen Size murphy bed and 1 twin fold out.

Yes, but based on what they've done in the past, not until the rehab is completed for the entire resort.

My cousin and her family want to go at the end of the month. It's she and her husband 2 children under 8 and her MIL. Can I book a 1 Bedroom at SSR for them?

1-Bedrooms at SSR have always allowed 5 persons. The old room configuration did not provide a sleeping surface for the 5th person unless using a pack-n-play. It appears as if the refurbished rooms will have a (small) single pull down bed under the TV.

Unless you booked a preferred 1 bedroom (all of the preferred rooms have been rehabbed), there is no guarantee that you will be assigned to a room that has been rehabbed and thus has beds for 5 people.

If you are assigned to a room that hasn't been refurbished, you will have to provide the bed/air mattress for the 5th person, including the linens. A room that is not yet rehabbed will have 1 king bed in the bedroom and a double sleep sofa in the living room.

I don't think I'd chance it unless I had a preferred room booked.

You could always book RIV, OKW, BLT, AK-K 1BR to be sure you have 5 'beds'
with BLT and AK-K you also get 2 full bathrooms.

The refurbishment will be complete this summer, possibly late spring. They are working on the last section of buildings. The last I heard there were only 3 buildings left to be worked on. 12 finished and 3 under construction. So pretty soon the last 3 will be out of the booking loop and you can only get a refurbished room. I would expect any day now, for another building to be finished and another un refurbished taken out to be worked on. They are moving fast. With low demand right now, ask for a refurbished room, they have been very good at giving that request.

Is everyone sure that 1BR villas at Saratoga Springs will sleep 5. I have no issues bringing an air mattress or having a kid sleep with us in a king bed. Also was told by other people that guest services would send up an air mattress for the 5th guest but now I am being told max of 4 people. We have 3 adults (husband, wife, and grandmother) and 2 kids going. When we booked the 1BR through RCI and called DVC and took the guest information they didnt have an issue with it but now I am being told its only 4 adults and an infant under 3. Any help would be appreciated

Are you booking on points via DVC or cash via Disney?

If booking via Disney they hold to a strict 4 for SSR unless it is a definite you are booking preferred rooms.

Those have indeed been changed to sleep 5 and as mentioned, by summer, once it’s all done, all will be able to accommodate.

The reports of people getting an air mattress are new as that has never been the case. So, I would not count on that. We have always had to bring our own.

Booked via points through RCI so I'd assume itd be via DVC. Called Disney and said they could note prefer a refurb room but no guarantees to get the fold out bed and was told by representative that it is first come first serve on a airmattress/roll away bed but would have to bring own linens. I guess I will call when it gets closer to our trip to see what room we get.

The air mattress thing is similar to what happens elsewhere: Disney do not buy, stock or maintain air mattresses. Housekeeping will sometimes hang onto abandoned air mattresses, which are not guaranteed to actually work when provided. They're not funded by Disney. They're prior guest discards.

Which section is your exchange drawn from? Preferred or Standard? (Member Services can tell you this if you do not know.) If it is Preferred, you are guaranteed a refurbished room. If it is Standard, you've got a better than 50/50 chance based on what is done and what is left to do; request Paddock.

When are you going? As of the last I have heard there is only 3 buildings not refurbished yet. It will probably 2 buildings in a few days. In a month or two all un refurbished buildings will be out of service.

Everything should be refurbished by then or be removed from inventory to be refurbished. One party stated the other day on another thread they were in the Carousel area and their room was not refurbished. They had pictures and it was the old room. I thought they already completed the Carousel area. Weird.
