Once Diagon Alley is FINALLY opened, does anyone think they will change the park hours to stay open later? Also, does anyone out there remember if the parks hours were changed to later times when they first opened Harry Potter? As of now, in August, the parks are only open till 8 ?! I guess they dont keep parks open later like Disney does. Perhaps it is because the local schools are back in session on Aug. 18th, and they feel the parks wont be as crowded... EVEN THOUGH Diagon will be open then??? :confused3 I guess time will tell, but would love to know from anyone out there that remembers if they ended up changing the hours on Universals website, once the new area opened. HMMMMM???:smokin::bored:

It all has to do with city noise ordnance.

Not sure I understand why a noise ordinance would have anything to do with it. HHN routinely ends at midnight or later, and certainly has a noise level that wouldn't be any less than normal park operation.

Yep, only certain times of the year can they stretch the hours. This is what I think was mentioned a few years ago. Someone local like metro might know for certain.

When HHN was at IOA, the Hulk had to stop at a specific time period due to the city noise ordinance.

my guess of why hours are cut back would be due to reduced staffing.
near the end of august, the summer crowds are dropping.

college students doing part time park work are getting ready to return to school.

that's my guess why over the past years the park close at the times they do.

i have been in the parks when the park hours have been increased during that day. so i know it is possible to lengthen the park day when needed.

the park crowds at the darkside are not the same every day of the year.
maybe the hours will change as the park grows, just something that is unknown at this point.

This brings a question or 2 to mind....in September, what time are the parks open until, is it 8 as well? And secondly we are doing a 2 day PtP, are some days better as in lower crowds? We plan to do our park days between Monday -Friday to let the locals enjoy the weekends :goodvibes
We will be there Spet 6-13, if we do the weekdays for our park days, do we need the express pass?

Anywhere from 5-9...IOA pretty much closed at 7pm all those dates. The studios varies..Last year there were several nights during your timeframe that the Studios closed at 6pm.Once HHN starts towards the middle of the month, the Studios can close as early as 5pm..Other nights it closed 830p

We love Universal but my biggest complaint is how early is closes.

Both parks are currently scheduled to be open from 9am - 10pm beginning June 23rd to August 17th.

It looks like the first nine days in August IOA is staggered by an hour. Open 8am to 9pm. While USO stays on the 9am - 10pm slot. That seem odd to anyone?

:confused3

Park hours are up for September and it looks like us is open till 8:30 1st half of the month and ioa will close at 7 for the most part.
