We are heading down for the first time in two years (WAY TOO LONG FOR ME!) from Oct 4- Oct 8. Do you think it will be super crowded? I didn't think AT ALL about the 50th anniversary on Oct 1 when we made our nonrefundable booking via a DVC rental company. I can't change it but we are staying at the Poly villas (weeee!). Wondering how the parks will be...

(Sorry admins, I posted this incorrectly in another forum first)

You might want to start booking your trip now if you are planning to go for the 50th Anniversary. Magic Kingdom and Epcot are already fully booked for October 1st and I suspect October will book up pretty quick.

You can see park availability here:

Yes, I would expect it to be very busy, especially since parks will be back to 100% capacity by then.. As suggested by PP, I would strongly recommend booking your trip now, park reservations, hotel, dining, etc.

All of October is going to be insane. It is normally a popular time anyway and add the 50th, bring your patience and set your expectations low.

I am booked Halloween week, know it will be rough, so unless they open back up for me to get my new AP I will likely spend my time at Universal (AP). I'm not paying top dollar for Disney park tickets and then it be a sea of humanity.

Gotta agree with the rest here. With the park hopefully increasing capacity more, Halloween, and the 50th anniversary, the World is going to be a very crowded place indeed.

Expect that the parks will be at capacity IF it is still limited at that time. Disney hasn't released a timeline for exactly when and by how much they will be increasing attendance capacity. If capacity is increased back to 100% I would still expect it to be very crowded due to the start of the 50th Anniversary.

We're booked for the same week. Touring plans and UT predict lower crowds during the week, higher on weekends. I doubt it will be "quiet" at any point, but I do believe weekdays should be better.

Yes it will most likely be through the roof crowded, assuming (and I think this is very likely to be the case) they further relax capacity restrictions before then.

Few of those "prediction" are working out too well at this point. Historic information is of little value and these folks don't have direct access to Disney and other travel booking data. Heck some of the ones I was looking at for May where not accounting for anything going on - way off for our vist.

Just to clarify, Disney has not announced when they are going back to full capacity. If this has been announced, can you please post a link as I missed that.

Yes, this was even talked about on the DIS Unplugged show today.. Between this article, no government-mandated restrictions, and the 50th anniversary.. It is happening..

Expect some parks to reach capacity and not allow entry. I have seen that happen in the past.
