Will parade FPs be overcrowded?

There have now been countless reports of glitches causing parade FPs to get cancelled. It sounds like many people "fixed" this problem by simply rebooking the FP through MDE, suggesting that after the auto-cancellations, Disney made the FPs available to all.

It also sounds like many people whose FP were cancelled found no availability when they went to rebook, so called Disney to have the FPs manually reinstated.

If Disney is manually reinstating FPs for the parades even after they are booked up, doesn't that mean the FP areas are going to be overcrowded, making the whole idea of a parade FP useless?

We have no way of knowing in advance.

I'm going to compare this Parade FP issue with the Wishes FP issue from the 24 hour day.
Everything about it was really similar.
Disney corrected their error by issuing EVERYONE that had a Wishes FP cancelled in error a special, Wishes only FP. They did this via a phone call so everyone that lost their FP knew they got it returned. They didn't have to read about it online. We got 3 regular FP and the Wishes only FP that day.
Also, just like this Parade FP issue, they ended up back in the FP pool when they first cancelled them. So folks looking at that time could grab them, just like with this Parade FP.
Fast forward to the Wishes the night of the 24 hour day. The FP area was not over crowded at all. We've gone since on a regular old night that didn't have any FP issues and the crowd was the same.
Does this mean you'll find no problems on the Parade? Not really, just that it's most likely going to work out the same way (at least I'll keep my fingers crossed for y'all)

When we were there last week parade fast pass areas were shoulder to shoulder. It didn't seem like a benefit at all.

How do you define "overcrowded"?

No, but we can always speculate!

Yes and you can speculate negatively or you can speculate positively. Up to you. Personally I like to look on the positive side of things.

No way to know. We have FP FOF and had it be wide open with tons of room to move around. We have FP ELP and had it be wall to wall people and even though we got there pretty early, we could not even get a spot at the front. I'm short and I was barely able to see the parade. In my opinion, when it isn't that crowded it is great, but when it is crowded the FP+ is pretty worthless. It is a big gamble.

Is the viewing area still down in the Town Square area, or have they moved it again?

What time should you show up for a parade FP, I have actually never done a FP for a parade before.

Feel free to slant positive. Feel free to slant negative. I'm just looking to crowdsource some opinions so that I can make a more informed decision.

Thanks. This is a helpful comparison.

So do I. That being said, I think it will be positively crowded.

:rotfl2:

I was wondering the same thing myself when they manually reinstated mine.
I figure not everyone will be bothered enough to phone to get it reinstated so it wont be double the normal amount of people.

If you book a parade FP, the info will tell you a 20-30 minute window of time to show up.
(But, you can show up earlier or later that the actual window if you want to, as well.)

I have the same concerns. Would love to hear actual reports in the next week.
